Shilpa Shirodkar Joins Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha in Supernatural Thriller Jatadhara
The much-awaited supernatural mythological thriller Jatadhara has already generated strong buzz with its recently released teaser. Starring Nava Dhalapathy Sudheer Babu and Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha in their most transformative roles yet, the teaser has received an overwhelming response. Positioned as a Pan-India bilingual film, Jatadhara reimagines Indian mythology through a darker, modern lens, combining striking visuals, mythic storytelling, and powerful performances to narrate an intense saga of cosmic conflict. The film is directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal.
Adding to the intrigue, the makers have introduced veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar as Shobha, a pivotal character in the story. Her first-look poster presents her in a black saree, seated before a sacred fire pit adorned with ritualistic symbols—skulls, offerings, and tantric elements. The poster reflects her character’s transformation, embodying greed that ultimately manifests into the dark practice of tantra. Shirodkar’s commanding and mysterious presence perfectly aligns with the film’s spiritual and supernatural tone.
Produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal and Prerna Arora under Zee Studios and Prerna Arora Productions, the film is further supported by producers Shivin Narang, Nikhil Nanda, Aruna Agarwal, Shilpa Singhal, and co-producers Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora. The creative direction is led by Divya Vijay, with Zee Music Company presenting the soundtrack. For Prerna Arora, known for acclaimed projects like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman, and Pari, Jatadhara represents another bold step in delivering high-concept, mythology-inspired cinema with contemporary appeal.
