Samantha’s body language is perfect for the role of Shakunthalam: Gunashekar
Director Guna Sekhar is busy promoting his movie ‘Shaakuntalam’ which is going to hit the screens worldwide on April 14 (Friday). The film has been premiered recently at Hyderabad and Mumbai and it has received mixed response.
Gunasekhar is confident about the movie’s success. Gunasekhar who has worked with top stars in the Telugu film industry worked with Samantha who has carved a niche for herself.
Speaking about her in an interview, Gunasekhar said that molding Samantha’s body language to suit the role of Shaakuntalam was not easy. Samantha has mostly played modern roles throughout her career and the character of Shaakuntalam is classical, he said and added that Samantha attended acting classes by Aruna Bhikshu.
Regarding Samantha’s health condition, Gunasekhar said that she was advised not to undergo physical stress and yet she insisted on participating in promotions and has actively taken part in the promotional activities. Currently, she is down with flu and is not able to attend promotions, he said.
Shaakuntalam is produced by Neelima Guna under the Guna Teamworks banner and is distributed by Sri Venkateswara Creations.
The male lead role of Dushyanta is played by Dev Mohan.
