RGV Turns Lead Actor in Gritty Gangster Drama SHOWMAN
Maverick filmmaker and true showman Ram Gopal Varma is stepping in front of the camera once again, this time as the lead actor in his upcoming film SHOWMAN, intriguingly branded with the tagline “Mad Monster.” Known for redefining genres with his bold storytelling, RGV now brings that same intensity to his on-screen avatar.
Adding more excitement, veteran actor Suman takes on the antagonist’s role — a move that instantly reminds audiences of the powerful villainy he delivered in Superstar Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Sivaji. His presence promises a strong and gripping face-off on screen.
The film marks the directorial debut of Nuthan, who enters the industry with a bold and ambitious vision. Thummalapalli Ramasatyanarayana, who earlier produced Ice Cream and Ice Cream-2 with RGV, is backing this project as Production No. 120 under the Bhimavaram Talkies banner, in collaboration with a top corporate studio.
Set in the gritty and dangerous world of gangsters — a space RGV has mastered like few others — SHOWMAN has already begun shooting silently, building curiosity and expectations around its edgy theme and powerful characterizations.
