RamaBanam Is An Unique Family Entertainer, says Gopichand

Actor Gopichand known for family entertainers has once again teamed up with director Sriwass. ‘Rama Banam’, the third film in their successful combination is hitting the screens worldwide on Friday (May 5).
Gopichand shared why he wanted to do family entertainers and how he made Sriwass do ‘Rama Banam’ with the script written by Bhupathi Raju.
In an interaction ahead of the movie’s release, Gopichand said director Sriwass intended to make an action film but he made him work on a family entertainer with a strong story that connects the audience.
Brotherhood and family sentiments exist in every family in our society and we are attached to them for thousands of years. I believe family dramas become successful when the audience is attached to the story. Rama Banam is one such film with a different attempt.
Jagapathi Babu is like a brother to me. He would have to places had he done a variety of roles. Though we are brothers in the film our characters are completely different. Rama Banam is nothing like Lakshyam and it carries a different feel that is not seen often in Telugu cinema.
The title Rama Banam was suggested by Nandamuri Balakrishna when we told him the gist of the story.
I am always open to working with debutant directors. I have worked with more than a dozen debutant directors to date and I always believe in the story and talent.
Talks with director Sreenu Vaitla are on. He is yet to pen a script for me. Also, I am okay to do negative roles which gave a much-needed fillip to my career in the past.
