Raashii Khanna Promises Vintage Pawan Kalyan in Ustaad Bhagat Singh
After the blockbuster success of Gabbar Singh, Power Star Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar have reunited for the much-awaited action entertainer Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The film is being produced on a grand scale under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers by producers Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar.
The film features Raashii Khanna and Sreeleela as the female leads. Music is composed by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, while the background score is provided by S. Thaman.
The songs, teaser, and trailer released so far have generated tremendous buzz and heightened expectations among fans and movie lovers. With excitement building, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is all set for a grand theatrical release on March 19, coinciding with the festive occasion of Ugadi.
Ahead of the release, actress Raashii Khanna interacted with the media and shared interesting insights about the film and her experience working on the project.
“I immediately said yes when I heard it was Pawan Kalyan Garu’s film”
Speaking about how she joined the project, Raashii Khanna revealed that she did not hesitate for a moment when the opportunity came her way.
“My life is extremely busy right now. But to be honest, the moment I heard that it was Pawan Kalyan Garu’s film, I immediately said yes with great excitement—even before listening to the story.”
She further shared that acting alongside Pawan Kalyan had been a long-standing dream.
“Ever since my debut film, I had heard so much about his stardom and the phenomenon called ‘Pawanism.’ From that time, I wished to work with him at least once. With Ustaad Bhagat Singh, that dream has finally come true.”
“My character Shloka is a modern girl with strong characterization”
Raashii Khanna revealed that she plays a character named Shloka in the film.
“Shloka is a very modern girl. In this film, every character has its own importance, and my role also has strong characterization.”
She also shared that the film includes a special mass song featuring her.
“There is a mass song in the film, and since I love dancing, I really enjoyed shooting for it.”
“Pawan Kalyan Garu is incredibly simple and inspiring”
Talking about her experience working with Pawan Kalyan, Raashii Khanna described him as a humble and thoughtful person.
“Pawan Garu is a very simple person. He is always seen reading books, and there is a certain innocence about him that is difficult to explain.”
She recalled their first conversation on set.
“On the very first day, he asked me whether I had always wanted to become an actress. I told him that I actually wanted to become an IAS officer.”
According to her, the star’s words carry deep meaning.
“He speaks very little, but every word he says has value. He even encouraged me to do public service. Pawan Garu always thinks about the people, and I learned a lot about humanity from him.”
Raashii also spoke about witnessing the immense admiration fans have for the actor.
“At the Ustaad Bhagat Singh event, when I looked at the crowd from the stage, it felt like the fans were worshipping him like a god.”
“Harish Shankar understands the pulse of the mass audience”
Raashii Khanna also praised director Harish Shankar for his dedication and filmmaking style.
“Harish Shankar Garu is extremely smart and understands the pulse of the mass audience very well.”

She revealed that the film was shot at an impressive pace.
“Usually, a film that takes around 120 days to shoot was completed in just 40 days. He worked tirelessly for the film and even sacrificed sleep.”
She added that the director often wrote punch dialogues on the spot during the shoot.
“He has a lot of patience and dedication. I learned a great deal from observing his passion for cinema.”
“Both heroines have their own space in the story”
Since the film features two female leads, Raashii Khanna clarified that each character has its own narrative space.
“We actually don’t have scenes together. Each character has its own importance in the story, and my role also has good variations.”
“We even worked 24-hour shifts during the shoot”
Talking about scheduling challenges, she revealed that the team had to adjust to Pawan Kalyan’s busy schedule.
“Harish Garu had already told me that Pawan Kalyan Garu’s dates might be unpredictable. I assured him that I would adjust accordingly.”
She added that the team worked with great dedication.
“Sometimes we even worked 24-hour shifts without distinguishing between day and night.”

Raashii Khanna also appreciated the producers for their support.
“Mythri Movie Makers are producers who put their heart and soul into films. They never compromise on the budget and give complete freedom to the director.”
She expressed hope to collaborate with the banner again.
“The working environment is wonderful, and I would love to work with them again in the future.”
“Audiences will see vintage Pawan Kalyan”
When asked what audiences can expect from the film, Raashii Khanna said the movie will be a complete entertainer.
“Just like Gabbar Singh, this film will also be highly entertaining. It is a family film that everyone can watch together in theatres.”
She believes the festive release will enhance the experience.
“Since it is releasing during the Ugadi festival, I’m sure audiences will thoroughly enjoy it. Most importantly, you will get to see vintage Pawan Kalyan Garu on screen.”
Upcoming Projects
Raashii Khanna also shared details about her upcoming projects across multiple languages.
“Currently, I am working on a Hindi film with Akshay Kumar and also doing *Farzi Season 2.”
She also revealed that she is part of another streaming project.
“I am acting in an Amazon series where I play a Punjabi police officer, and all my dialogues are in Punjabi.”
In Tamil, she is working on a film titled Rowdy & Co., while in Telugu she is currently listening to several new scripts.
