Kajal Aggarwal, the reigning “Queen of Masses,” is ready to showcase a new side of her talent in the upcoming movie Satyabhama. In a wide-ranging interview, Aggarwal discussed her role as a powerful police officer, her experience working with a new team, and the film’s exploration of social issues.
Satyabhama marks a departure for Aggarwal, who has become known for her diverse roles in over 60 films. “This is the first time I’ve done an emotional action movie,” she said. “I even performed the action sequences myself. It brought out emotions I’ve never experienced before on screen.”
The film, produced by newcomers Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly under the Aurum Arts banner, also features Naveen Chandra and is presented by Major director Sashi Kiran Tikka, who penned the screenplay.
“The character of Satyabhama resonated with me,” Aggarwal explained. “Like her, I’m not afraid to speak my mind about social issues. Even if I don’t hold rallies, these things affect me.”
Aggarwal expressed her respect for both Tikka and director Suman Chikkala, praising their dedication to the project. “Suman is a first-time director, but he has incredible clarity and conviction,” she said. “Working with him was a pleasure.”
Satyabhama tackles complex themes related to youth, gaming, betting, and religion. “The film doesn’t promote any particular religion,” Aggarwal clarified. “It simply depicts these elements within the story. There are many more twists and turns than what you see in the trailer.”
Aggarwal emphasized the film’s realistic action sequences. “I can’t fight like Ram Charan,” she laughed. “The stunts are designed to be believable and suit my character.”
Music direction by Sricharan Pakala also drew Aggarwal’s praise. “We both love rock music and had great discussions about the score,” she revealed.
The actress concluded by addressing the misconception that marriage hinders an actress’s career. “Everyone has a personal life,” she stated. “I don’t see why that should affect my work.”
Satyabhama is slated for a grand theatrical release on July 7th.
