“Premante Blends Fun and Heart — Priyadarshi”

“Premante Blends Fun and Heart — Priyadarshi”

“Premante is a Film Everyone Can Relate To — It Has Entertainment, Emotion, and Heart”: Hero Priyadarshi

Priyadarshi is coming up with a refreshing romantic comedy titled Premante, with Anandhi playing the female lead. Popular anchor Suma Kanakala appears in a key role. The film marks the directorial debut of Navaneeth Sriram. Produced by Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Janhvi Narang under the SVCLLP banner, the film is presented by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. The project also stands as a tribute to the late Narayan Das Narang, with Aditya Merugu as co-producer. The teaser, trailer, and songs have already created a strong buzz. Premante is set to release on November 21. As part of promotions, Priyadarshi interacted with the media and shared his thoughts about the film.

The film releases on the 21st—how are you feeling?

Every release brings a mix of excitement and nervousness. Just like a farmer waits for the first rain, I wait for the audience’s verdict.

What does “Premante” (Love) mean to you?

Love has two parts. Poets and filmmakers have always shown how beautiful love is—that’s the theory. But the practical side of love is what we experience after marriage.
Once two people get married, many dynamics start changing. From “love is magical” to “love can also be challenging,” this film explores that journey. It’s made in a way that everyone can relate to.

Why the tagline “Thrill Praapthirasthu”?

It’s about a girl who believes marriage should be thrilling. You’d have seen hints of this in the teaser and trailer.
When two people are in love, their journey can sometimes feel like a roller-coaster. That thrill is what we wanted to capture. The film has a fun, entertaining vibe but also carries strong emotional depth.

How was it working with Anandhi?

I’ve watched her brilliant performances in Tamil cinema. She’s actually a Telugu girl—born and brought up in Warangal. She is very professional, extremely dedicated, and a wonderful performer.

Your experience working with Suma Kanakala?

Suma akka is a legend. She faces challenges daily and keeps reaching new heights. Seeing her not just as an anchor but as an actor was great.
I learned a lot from her—she’s spontaneous, always present in the moment. That quality truly inspired me.

Tell us about director Navaneeth Sriram.

He’s a director with great clarity. He wrote the story beautifully and knows exactly what he wants. There’s a lot of maturity in his storytelling despite this being his debut film.

Does the film convey any message about marriage or divorce?

We never intended to give a message. Marriage and divorce are sensitive topics.
This film simply shows how a couple deals with their own problems. If audiences take away a message, that’s their interpretation. But we didn’t set out to preach anything.

Do any of your characters resemble your real life?

Not at all. I don’t impose my personal ideologies on the characters I play. I prefer to disappear into the role. Only then can I do films like Mallesham, Balagam, or Court.
If someone asks me to do a film “in my style,” I say I don’t have a fixed style—anything new becomes my style. Innovation defines who we are.

You seem to have danced quite a bit in this film—true?

(Laughs) I did what was needed! Our choreographers JD and Vishva made us practice a lot. Anandhi is also a very good dancer.
For this film, I put in special effort and practiced extensively.

Music by Leon James—your thoughts?

James has given exactly the music this film needed. The songs are already receiving great response, especially the dance number. Even the background score is brilliant.

A word about the producers?

Sunil garu, Ram Mohan garu, and Janhvi were incredibly supportive. They never compromised anywhere and gave us everything we needed.
Spirit Media’s support was also crucial. Because of all this, the film has shaped up wonderfully.

Your upcoming films?

I’m working on a political thriller titled Asamardhudu. I’m also doing a thriller called Suyodhana.
As a viewer, I want to watch good storytelling, and as an actor, I want to contribute to it. Our language and culture are rich, and we have amazing stories to tell.
Audiences have accepted me as someone who chooses unique stories, and with that responsibility, I want to keep earning their love and respect.
