“Peddi” Is a Complete Entertainer Packed With Every Element Audiences Expect – Producer Venkata Satish Kilaru
Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s rustic action drama Peddi is one of the most awaited films of the year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the film is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. With chartbuster songs and an impressive glimpse already creating huge buzz, the film is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4.
During a recent media interaction, producer Venkata Satish Kilaru shared exciting insights about the film, the experience of working with Ram Charan, and the scale of Peddi.
How does it feel to make your debut production with a star like Ram Charan?
Producing my first film with Ram Charan garu is truly a blessing and a matter of great fortune. This project became possible only because he believed in us and agreed to do the film. I will always remain thankful to him for that opportunity.
We made this film on the grand scale we envisioned and within the planned budget. From day one till the final day of shoot, the entire journey was filled with positive energy. On the last day of shooting, everyone on set — including Ram Charan garu and director Buchi Babu garu — became emotional because of the unforgettable experience we shared together.
Tell us a little about your background.
I come from an agricultural family. My father is a farmer. I completed my education in Vijayawada and later entered the construction business after engineering. Naveen garu, who is a close friend of mine, has always been passionate about cinema, and that eventually brought us into the film industry.
What challenges did you face as a producer?
Challenges depend on how we handle them. If approached positively, even difficult situations become smooth. Thankfully, our journey with Peddi has been extremely happy and smooth. From the first day to the last, the shoot happened in a very cool and positive atmosphere. We did not face any major hurdles during production.
What impressed you the most when Buchi Babu narrated the story?
The story itself is extraordinary. From the opening scene till the climax, audiences will remain completely engaged. The film has powerful commercial elements, intense emotions, and everything a movie lover expects from a big-screen entertainer. Buchi Babu garu has delivered a complete package that perfectly balances emotion and mass appeal.
About Ram Charan’s dedication…
Words are not enough to describe the effort Ram Charan garu put into this film. Audiences will truly understand his transformation only when they watch him on the big screen. He worked with a special trainer for nearly two years for this role and pushed himself physically beyond limits.
Even after suffering injuries, he never slowed down. In fact, he returned to the sets the very next day after getting stitches near his eye. That shows his dedication and commitment to the film.
This is an extremely intense performance-driven film. Whatever the director envisioned, Ram Charan delivered without compromise. Even on days when his body could barely cooperate, he would undergo physiotherapy and come back ready for the shoot. The hard work and pain he endured for Peddi will clearly reflect on screen. Throughout the shoot, I was personally present on the sets witnessing his dedication firsthand.
About A.R. Rahman’s music…
A. R. Rahman garu is a legendary composer. The moment Buchi Babu conceived this story, he had already decided that Rahman garu was the perfect choice for the music. After listening to the narration, Rahman garu became even more excited than us about the project.
He worked tirelessly and with incredible detailing on every aspect of the soundtrack. His contribution and support to Peddi have been phenomenal. He has delivered a magnificent album, and we’ve all seen how beautifully the songs have connected with audiences already.
How is the film’s business progressing?
The business has already been closed successfully, and we are very relaxed and confident at this stage.
Expectations around the film are already huge. What can audiences expect from the trailer?
The expectations will rise even further after the trailer release. No matter how high the expectations are, the film will surpass them. Once audiences watch the trailer, they will instantly want to experience the movie in theatres.
From the title cards till the very end, audiences won’t move from their seats. Peddi is a thoroughly packed entertainer loaded with emotions, action, and unforgettable moments. The excitement among audiences to watch the film is tremendous, not only in the Telugu states but across India and overseas as well.
Was Sukumar involved creatively in the film?
I don’t think Sukumar garu was directly involved in the filmmaking process. From the story development to execution, Buchi Babu garu handled everything independently. Since he is Sukumar garu’s disciple, he might have discussed the story with him initially, but once the shoot began, the entire responsibility was handled solely by Buchi Babu.

Actors like Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu Sharma, Boman Irani, and Tinnu Anand are all deeply connected to the story. Every character carries strong emotional weight, and the actors have completely lived in their roles. Audiences will strongly feel the impact of each character.
About cinematographer Rathnavelu and the film’s visuals…
R. Rathnavelu garu has delivered stunning visuals for the film. The story is set against an 80s backdrop, and our art director Avinash created extraordinary sets that built a completely unique world for Peddi. Apart from the sets, we also shot extensively in real locations including Sri Lanka, Pune, and Delhi.
You seem very calm before release…
That confidence comes from our belief in the content. We are extremely confident about what we have made. Once the trailer releases, the excitement among audiences will increase even more.
What’s next after Peddi?
My next project with Nandamuri Balakrishna is already in progress.
