Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi’ Teaser out, Worldwide Release on January 23rd
Talented filmmaker-turned-actor Tharun Bhascker, known for his impressive on-screen presence, is back in the lead role with a quirky new entertainer, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, co-starring the charming Eesha Rebba. The film marks the directorial debut of A R Sajeev and promises a delightful rural comedy filled with authentic humour, relatable emotions, and a refreshing narrative tone.
Jointly produced by S Originals and Movie Verse Studios, the film is backed by Srujan Yarabolu, Aditya Pittie, Vivek Krishnani, Anup Chandrasekaran, Sadhik Shaik, and Naveen Sanivarapu, with Kishore Jaladi and Bala Sowmitri serving as co-producers. With shooting completed and post-production in its final stages, the makers have begun the promotional campaign by unveiling a lively and engaging teaser.
Set in a rustic Godavari backdrop, the teaser introduces the central conflict built around two contrasting personalities. Tharun plays Ambati Omkar Naidu, a wealthy fish trader marked by arrogance and self-interest. He marries Kondaveeti Prashanti, portrayed by Eesha Rebba—an embodiment of grace, patience, and discipline. Their polar opposite temperaments spark a compelling family drama, but the teaser hints at an unexpected twist that elevates this “Kutumba Katha Chitram” beyond the ordinary.
Director A R Sajeev seems to have crafted a wholesome entertainer packed with offbeat humour and laugh-out-loud moments. The writing feels sharp and flavourful, and the characters come across as instantly relatable. Cinematographer Deepak Yeragara beautifully captures the natural charm of the Godavari region with eye-pleasing visuals, while Jay Krish’s energetic background score — particularly the pulsating theme track — enhances the film’s fun quotient. The production values appear rich, colourful, and vibrant.
Tharun Bhascker shines in a role rooted deeply in rural sensibilities, bringing the perfect mix of attitude and subtlety. The IPL conversation sequence stands out as a particularly humorous highlight, showcasing his character’s amusingly limited knowledge. Eesha Rebba looks radiant and carries her role with poise, while the teaser also offers quick glimpses of a strong supporting cast.
Overall, the teaser packs the right amount of humour, drama, and freshness, raising curiosity about the twist the story promises. The makers have locked January 23rd — the Republic Day weekend — for the film’s worldwide theatrical release, aiming to capitalise on the holiday advantage.
