NTR’s 1984 Struggle Comes Alive in New Audiobook
The NTR Literature Committee has announced that the acclaimed book 1984: Parirakshananodhyamam – Sajiva Charitra, authored by Vikram Pula, is now being released in an audio format. The print edition of the book was officially launched on September 6 in Vijayawada by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy, and Assembly Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu.
Following the overwhelming response from readers and recognizing the historical significance of the work, the Committee decided to bring out an audio version to help the book reach crores of Telugu-speaking people across the globe. The audiobook is narrated by popular anchor Smt. Gayatri, Chairman TD Janardhan announced.
At a special program held today, the teaser of the audiobook was unveiled by NTR’s son Sri Nandamuri Ramakrishna. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman TD Janardhan recalled how the Central leadership conspired to remove then Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao in August 1984, when he had just returned after a heart surgery. He said NTR rewrote history by launching a massive democratic movement, uniting non-Congress forces, mobilizing people’s support, and ultimately reclaiming the Chief Minister’s chair through sheer will and mass backing.

He added that the audiobook version of Sajiva Charitra, which vividly chronicles these dramatic and defining events, will be formally released on December 13, 2025, in Hyderabad by NTR’s daughter and Rajahmundry MP Smt. D. Purandareswari.
