“NTR Praises Rishab Shetty’s Dream Project Kantara: Chapter 1”
The much-awaited prequel to the pan-India sensation Kantara, titled Kantara: Chapter 1, is all set to hit theaters worldwide on October 2nd, coinciding with Dussehra. Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the film is backed by the prestigious banner Hombale Films, known for delivering cinematic marvels like KGF and Salaar.
Following the release of its theatrical trailer in multiple languages, the film has generated an enormous buzz across the country, raising expectations sky-high. To celebrate the upcoming release, the makers hosted a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad, with Man of the Masses, Young Tiger NTR, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
NTR’s Powerful Speech
Addressing the massive gathering, NTR said:
“Greetings to the media friends, well-wishers, the Kantara team, and especially my dear fans. When I was a child, my grandmother used to narrate stories filled with mystery, temples, and folklore. I always wondered whether they were true or not — but I loved listening to them. Those stories etched deep into my heart. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a filmmaker would bring such tales alive on the big screen.
That filmmaker is none other than my brother Rishab Shetty. Watching Kantara unfold on screen felt magical even for someone like me who already knew the essence of such stories. If I was so stunned, imagine the impact it created on those unfamiliar with them — that’s the phenomenon called Kantara.
Rishab is a rare filmmaker who can master all 24 crafts of cinema. Without him, this film would never have been made on this scale. Visiting the Udupi Krishna temple with him was a divine experience for my family and me — something only he could make possible.
I also witnessed firsthand the dedication and hardships he endured for Chapter 1. This is not an easy film to make. They even had to create paths where none existed to reach sacred locations. This is Rishab’s dream, and Hombale Films stood by him to fulfill it.
I wholeheartedly pray this film becomes a monumental blockbuster in Indian cinema. My only regret is that my dear friend Prashanth couldn’t join us on stage today.
