Nayanthara & Kavin’s ‘Hi’ Locks August 14 Release
The much-awaited family entertainer Hi, starring Lady Superstar Nayanthara and Kavin in their first-ever on-screen collaboration, is all set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on August 14. The makers officially announced the release date by unveiling a vibrant announcement video, giving fans a glimpse of the film’s heartwarming tone.
Directed by debutant Vishnu Edavan, Hi promises a wholesome cinematic experience packed with laughter, emotions, and memorable family moments. The film features an impressive supporting cast including K. Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar, VTV Ganesh, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir, and Qureshi, adding further strength to the entertainer.
The technical team includes cinematographer Rajesh Shukla, music composer Jen Martin, editor Philomin Raj, and production designer S. Kannan, ensuring top-notch production values.
Produced by Zee Studios, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studio, the film is backed by producers Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and S.S. Lalit Kumar. Vinodh C.J. and K.S. Mayil Vaganan serve as co-producers, while V.K. Kubeendran is the Creative Producer.
The film has already created significant buzz with its first single, which amassed millions of views across digital platforms. Riding on that momentum, the newly released announcement video has further heightened anticipation ahead of its Independence Day weekend release.

Vishnu Edavan, who previously collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraj on blockbuster films including Kaithi, Master, and Vikram, makes his directorial debut with Hi. With the fresh pairing of Nayanthara and Kavin, an accomplished ensemble cast, and a refreshing feel-good narrative, the film has emerged as one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the year.
