“My Role in Mirai is Strong, Film Will Be a Visual Wonder”- Ritika Nayak

The much-awaited Pan-India superhero spectacle Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, is all set for a grand theatrical release on September 12. Directed by Karthik Ghattamneni, the film also features Rocking Star Manchu Manoj in a powerful role, with Ritika Nayak as the female lead. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kiran Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film has already created massive buzz with its glimpses, teaser, and trailer.
On the eve of the release, actress Ritika Nayak interacted with the media and shared her excitement about the project.
Q: How did Mirai happen for you?
After my debut Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, I was waiting for a strong role, and Mirai came my way. The story was fascinating, and I instantly connected with my character.
Q: Tell us about your character.
I play a monk living in the Himalayas, a very strong and powerful role with great inner energy. I can’t reveal too much, but it’s crucial to the film’s journey.
Q: How was it working with Teja Sajja?
Teja is professional, dedicated, and very sweet. Despite injuries and health issues during the shoot, he was always on time. I learned a lot from him.
Q: What about your co-stars?
Manoj sir has a very powerful role and is full of fun off-screen. Working with Jagapathi Babu garu and sharing screen space with Shriya Saran was a wonderful experience.
Q: Was the journey challenging?
Yes, around 80% of the film was shot in live locations, which was tough but also exciting. The team’s support made it memorable.
Q: How was your experience with director Karthik Ghattamneni?
He is a visionary with great clarity. The way he executed the film is outstanding. On set, we even joked about being like brother and sister as our birthdays are just a day apart.
Q: Music seems to play a big role in Mirai.
Hari Gowra has given outstanding music. The songs are visually grand, and the background score is on another level.
Q: What kind of roles do you want to do in the future?
I want to do performance-oriented roles of all kinds. I love superhero films—HanuMan is my favorite. Action and romance are my preferred genres.
Q: Who inspires you as an actress?
Sai Pallavi. I became a huge fan after watching Fidaa. She inspires me a lot.
Q: Tell us about the producers.
People Media Factory is a very passionate production house. They gave us full support and made Mirai on a grand scale without compromises.
Q: What’s next for you?
I’m working on a film with Varun Tej, and a few other projects are in the pipeline, which will be announced soon.
