Music Shop Murthy is a Telugu dramedy that strikes a sweet chord with its unconventional premise and genuine heart. We meet Murthy, a music enthusiast in his fifties, clinging to his quaint music shop in a small village called Vinukonda. Despite his passion, the shop struggles to stay afloat, and Murthy faces pressure from his family to close its doors.

Enter Anjana, a progressive young woman who sparks a fire in Murthy’s soul. Inspired by her, he embarks on a whimsical quest to become a DJ in the bustling city of Hyderabad. Ajay Ghosh shines as Murthy, navigating the film with a performance that dances between humor and drama. He portrays the struggles and unwavering determination of a middle-aged man chasing a seemingly impossible dream with a depth that resonates with viewers.

Chandini Chowdary provides a steady beat as Anjana, her character embodying the supportive spirit of the younger generation. The film doesn’t shy away from portraying the real-world challenges Murthy faces, including societal disapproval and the complexities of family dynamics.

Technically, the movie hits all the right notes. Sreenivas Bejugam’s cinematography paints a vivid contrast between the village’s rustic charm and the vibrant energy of Hyderabad. The music by Pavan complements the narrative, adding emotional depth and comedic flourishes. The editing by Bonthala Nageswara Reddy ensures a smooth flow, keeping the audience engaged throughout.

While the film excels on most fronts, the final act feels a bit rushed, failing to quite match the brilliance of the preceding scenes. The second half feels like unnecessary twists and turns, which could have been just avoided and still make the story successful.

Despite this minor misstep, Music Shop Murthy remains a delightful watch. Its unique story, combined with captivating performances and strong technical execution, creates a heartwarming tale about the enduring power of dreams and the courage to chase them, no matter your age.
