‘Modern Missamma’ First Single ‘Better Be A Missamma’ Out

The first single from the upcoming Telugu film ‘Modern Missamma’ was launched in a grand manner on Wednesday at Prasads Labs in Hyderabad. Titled ‘Better Be A Missamma’, the song has been composed by acclaimed music director Gopi Sundar, with lyrics penned by Kittu Vissapragada.
Produced under the Lasya & Mithuna Creations banner by Chiranjeevi Pamidi, Shiva Pamidi, Kiran Kumar Nalluri and Sravanthi Namburi, the film is written and directed by Sai Baba. Harsha Narra and Tanmayi Khushi play the lead roles, while Siju AR, Pramodini, Harika, Dr. Bhadram, Shivannarayana, Rakesh Rachakonda and others are part of the supporting cast.
The newly released song features Harsha Narra in traditional dhoti attire and Tanmayi Khushi in a traditional look. The lyrical theme revolves around a young woman expressing her reluctance towards marriage, giving the song a contemporary and relatable perspective, particularly from a woman’s point of view.
Speaking at the event, ‘Vadala’ producer Kishore Naidu praised the film and said that he recently watched its premiere. He revealed that he usually looks for flaws while watching a movie, but found none in ‘Modern Missamma’. He expressed confidence that audiences would thoroughly enjoy the film and particularly praised Dr. Bhadram’s hilarious character.
Hero Harsha Narra said that ‘Modern Missamma’ is his third film after ‘Missing’ and ‘Roti Kapada Romance’. While acknowledging that his previous films did not achieve the expected commercial success, he said that his determination to continue working hard remains unchanged.
He added that the team made ‘Modern Missamma’ not only with hard work but also with passion and love. According to him, the entire unit worked together like a group of friends. He praised Tanmayi Khushi’s performance and appreciated Gopi Sundar’s music and Kittu Vissapragada’s relatable lyrics. He expressed confidence that the film will connect with audiences.
Heroine Tanmayi Khushi said that ‘Modern Missamma’ is her next film after ‘23’. Recalling the popularity of the song ‘Vaddura Sodaraa’ from Nagarjuna’s ‘Manmadhudu’, she said she believes ‘Better Be A Missamma’ could similarly strike a chord with women today.
She expressed happiness that director Sai Baba had written the story from a woman’s perspective and said that her character would be relatable to audiences.
Director Sai Baba expressed happiness over the response to the first single. Drawing a comparison between building a house, conducting a marriage and making a film, he said that all three are equally challenging. He thanked the producers, actors, technicians and entire team for standing by him throughout the filmmaking journey.
Speaking about the title, the director said that choosing a classic title like ‘Missamma’ requires courage. He recalled the legacy of earlier films carrying the same title and said the team believed their story had the strength to justify the name. He added that the performances of the artistes have further established why the film is titled ‘Modern Missamma’.
Sai Baba also highlighted Gopi Sundar’s music as one of the major strengths of the movie. Clarifying the film’s central idea, he said that ‘Modern Missamma’ does not suggest that people should avoid marriage. Instead, the film aims to explore the responsibilities and understanding required before entering into marriage.
Producer Chiranjeevi Pamidi said that ‘Modern Missamma’ is the second production from their banner after ‘Calling Sahasra’. While the earlier film did not deliver the expected result, he expressed confidence that ‘Modern Missamma’ would receive a positive response.
He praised the performances of Harsha Narra and Tanmayi Khushi and revealed that the team began its journey nearly two years ago. The producers wanted to create a film that reflects contemporary trends and are pleased with the final output. He added that completing the movie within the planned schedule and budget itself was an achievement for the team.
DOP Sheshu Raj Daddala said that ‘Modern Missamma’ is an important film in his career and credited the collective efforts of the entire team for delivering a quality product.
Choreographer Balakrishna expressed his happiness at choreographing the title song and being part of the film.
With its contemporary storyline, relatable marriage-centric theme, youthful performances and Gopi Sundar’s music, ‘Modern Missamma’ is generating interest among Telugu cinema audiences. The first single ‘Better Be A Missamma’ has added further curiosity around the film and its unique take on modern relationships and marriage.
