“Mechanic Rocky” Showcases My Most Unique Role Yet: Actress Shraddha Srinath
Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen’s much-anticipated film Mechanic Rocky is gearing up for its release on November 22. Directed by debutant Raviteja Mullapudi, the movie stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and Shraddha Srinath as the leading ladies. Produced by Ram Talluri under the SRT Entertainments banner, the film has already created a massive buzz with its first gear teaser, trailers, and songs.
At a recent press meet, actress Shraddha Srinath shared insights about the film and her role, highlighting the thrilling experience and surprises that await audiences.
What impressed you about the story?
I was born into an army family and grew up shifting states every two years. Naturally, I enjoy experiencing different things. Mechanic Rocky offered me a chance to play a very unique character—something I’ve never done before. It was an exciting challenge, and I truly enjoyed portraying my character, Maya. Working alongside Vishwak Sen was equally thrilling.
Can you tell us about your role in the film?
My character contributes significantly to the storyline. Maya plays a crucial role in Mechanic Rocky’s life, and her involvement is full of surprises and twists. Audiences will experience thrilling moments and visual delights, thanks to director Raviteja’s incredible vision.
Did you have any scenes with Meenakshi Chaudhary?
We didn’t share many scenes, but we met often on set. Coincidentally, she also comes from an army family, and we found a lot of similarities in our experiences.
Is it true you rejected a previous script by Vishwak?
Yes, it was a remake project. Personally, I’m not inclined towards remakes, so I couldn’t take it up. However, working with Vishwak in Mechanic Rocky has been a fantastic experience.
What was it like working with Vishwak Sen?
Matching his energy on screen was challenging. Off-screen, he’s a fun-loving person, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him.
How was your experience collaborating with SRT Entertainments?
They’ve created this film on a grand scale, ensuring top-notch technical quality. Jakes Bejoy’s music is phenomenal, and the production values are exceptional.
How do you reflect on your nine-year film journey?
I didn’t have godfathers in the industry, so every film has been a learning experience. There have been highs and lows. After Jersey, I reached new peaks, but like everyone else, I was anxious during the COVID-19 lockdowns. My journey mirrors life—an ongoing process with hits and flops that I’ve learned to accept. I prioritize quality work and therefore remain selective in my choices.
What criteria do you follow when selecting scripts?
I evaluate how strong the story is on paper and the significance of my character. I prefer projects I would enjoy watching as an audience member.
How do you handle reviews and criticism?
I don’t take film criticism too seriously. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about a movie, just as I am. However, personal attacks can be a bit hurtful.
What is your favorite genre?
I enjoy watching horror films and would love to act in science fiction like Kalki or period dramas like Baahubali. I’m also keen on exploring comedy. After Mechanic Rocky, I hope to receive more diverse roles.
Upcoming Projects
My next release is Dakoo Maharaj, set for Sankranti. I’m also working on a Tamil web series and a film with Vishnu Vishal.
By balancing unique roles and delivering consistent performances, Shraddha Srinath continues to establish herself as a versatile actor. Stay tuned for Mechanic Rocky, releasing on November 22!
