Maragadha Mani 2 Begins with a Grand Pooja — Fantasy Comedy Blockbuster Is Back!
Karthi, Arya and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu launch the shoot in style
After the massive success of Maragadha Mani (2017), which carved a special place in Tamil cinema with its magical narrative and rib-tickling humour, the much-awaited sequel Maragadha Mani 2 has officially gone on floors, sparking excitement among fans and the industry alike.
The film’s shooting commenced on an auspicious note on the occasion of Shivaratri, with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Chennai on February 16, 2026. Adding star power to the launch, Karthi sounded the clapboard, while Arya and Venkat Prabhu ceremoniously announced “Camera… Action!”, setting a festive and energetic tone for the project. Several leading filmmakers associated with Axess Film Factory were also present to grace the event.
Maragadha Mani 2 is produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Manish Singhal, Durgaram Choudhary, Dev and KV Durai under the banners of Passion Studios, Dangal TV, RDC Media, Axess Film Factory and Good Show. The sequel is helmed by director ARK Saravan, who returns after delivering the blockbuster original.
The film boasts a power-packed ensemble cast featuring Aadhi, Sathyaraj, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nikki Galrani, Munishkanth, Anandaraj, Danie, Arunraja Kamaraj and Muruganandam in key roles.
Backing the film with strong technical finesse is an experienced crew — Dhibu Ninan Thomas handling music, PV Shankar on cinematography, NK Rahul as art director, Thirumalai Rajan R overseeing editing, Rajesh Kannan penning dialogues, and PC Stunts choreographing the action sequences.
With expectations soaring ever since its announcement, Maragadha Mani 2 promises bigger laughs, richer fantasy elements, and grander cinematic spectacle. The shoot will continue at a brisk pace, with more exciting updates from the team set to be revealed soon.
