Mangalavaram is a genre that was never seen in Indian cinema: Ajay Bhupati

RX100, the movie which has now become synonymous with the famous motorcycle RX100, etched a mark on the young Telugu audience.

After the movie’s release in 2018, both the lead actors Karthikeya and Payal Rajput and the director Ajay Bhupati shot to fame and earned fans of their own.

Once again, RX100 combination is going to rock the Telugu cinema. Director Ajay Bhupati has teamed up with Payal Rajput for their upcoming movie ‘Mangalavaaram’. It is a pan-South India film and will release in four languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film is a joint venture of Mudra Media Works and A Creative Works produced by the director Ajay and Swathi Gunupati and Suresh Varma M.

The director has released a poster featuring Payal as ‘Shailaha’ from the film. A dusky Payal is seen half naked while her eyes are filled with tears.

About Mangalavaram, director Ajay said it is a village-based action-thriller set in the 90’s. As the poster suggests, it is a raw and rustic film with beautiful visuals and emotions. He said it is a new-genre film that was never featured in Indian cinema.

“There are 30 characters in the story and every character has got a certain place in the larger scheme of the film. Every character is important,” he said.

Producers Swathi Gunupati and Suresh Varma M said Shailaja from Mangalavaram will be remembered forever just like Indu from RX100. ‘Kantara’ fame Ajaneesh Loknath has been roped in to compose music.
