Man Arrested for Abusive Comment on Renu Desai Post in Cyberabad
In a shocking development, Cybercrime Police in Cyberabad have arrested a man for allegedly posting an abusive and offensive comment on social media targeting actress Renu Desai, the former wife of Pawan Kalyan.
According to officials, the accused has been identified as Kotipalli Venkanna, who works as a security guard. Police revealed that he was highly active on social media platforms, especially Instagram, where he frequently spent his leisure time browsing reels and posts.
The incident came to light after Venkanna allegedly posted an objectionable comment on a video featuring Renu Desai that had been shared by a news page. Acting swiftly, Cybercrime authorities tracked him using digital evidence and his online activity trail.
He was apprehended in Madhapur on March 17 and later shifted to the Cyber Crime Police Station in Gachibowli for further investigation.
During the inquiry, the accused handed over his mobile device—a Vivo smartphone—which was used to post the comment. The device has since been seized as part of the ongoing probe. While police have not disclosed the exact content of the remark, they confirmed that it was deemed abusive and offensive under applicable laws, leading to legal action against him.
Following the incident, Cyberabad Police issued a strong advisory urging citizens to exercise caution and responsibility while engaging on social media. Officials emphasized that posting abusive, defamatory, or offensive content can attract serious legal consequences.
They further highlighted that social media is not an unregulated space. Every post, comment, and interaction leaves a digital footprint that can be traced by authorities when required.
This case serves as a clear reminder that users must adhere to both legal and ethical standards online. Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
