Madharasi is a Big-Screen Action Celebration- Sivakarthikeyan
Sivakarthikeyan is all set to thrill audiences with his high-octane action entertainer Madharasi. Directed by ace filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies, the film has already created massive buzz with its teaser, trailer, and two chartbuster singles. The much-awaited film hits theatres on September 5. Ahead of the release, Sivakarthikeyan shared some exciting insights about Madharasi.
How was it working with A.R. Murugadoss for the first time?
Working with Murugadoss sir was a dream come true. He has directed legends like Megastar Chiranjeevi and Superstar Mahesh Babu, yet he remains so calm, composed, and crystal clear in his vision. I learned so much from him during this journey. The entire shoot was a positive experience. I feel proud and happy to have collaborated with him. He has given me a solid film.
Tell us about Rukmini Vasanth’s role in the film.
Madarasi has two strong pillars – love and action. Rukmini’s presence makes the love portions shine beautifully. Her character adds deep emotion to the story and her performance is undoubtedly one of the biggest assets of the film.
What can audiences expect from Madarasi?
The story of Madarasi is fresh and unique. It is packed with high-voltage action sequences and layered with strong emotions. This is a film designed to give audiences a grand cinematic experience in every sense – action, scale, and emotional connect.
The action blocks will mesmerize viewers – there’s a certain madness in them that will give audiences a completely different high. It’s the kind of film you celebrate on the big screen.
Anirudh Ravichander’s music has always been special in your films.
Anirudh is not just a composer, he’s my best friend. Every time we team up, it turns into a musical hit. Madarasi is no different. The songs have come out brilliantly, and the background score will be a special treat.

There’s even a song choreographed by Shekar Master where I perform a unique leg movement – that was a fun and new experience for me. The re-recording is extraordinary, and I’m sure the audience will thoroughly enjoy the music in theatres.
The technical team looks very strong too.
Yes, absolutely. Cinematographer Sudeep Elamon has captured the film in a very distinctive way. Editor Sreekar Prasad has cut the film beautifully, and production designer Arun Venjaramoodu has brought in such richness to the visuals. On the whole, the film has been crafted on a technically superior level to give audiences a world-class theatrical experience.
You’re sharing screen space with Vidyut Jammwal and Biju Menon. How was that experience?
Both of them are pillars of the film in their own way.
-
With Vidyut Jammwal, the action sequences are absolutely crazy – audiences will love the intensity.
-
Biju Menon is a phenomenal actor. His voice modulation and screen presence are simply amazing. I got the chance to observe him closely, and it was a great learning experience.
A word about the producers’ support?
Producer Tirupati Prasad sir is such a simple and humble person. Yet, he has backed a massive project like Madarasi with great passion. He never compromises when it comes to content – if the story demands, he is ready to spend whatever it takes. I admire that quality in him. This film has been mounted on a grand scale without any compromises, fully supporting the director’s vision.
Do you notice any difference between Telugu and Tamil audiences?
Honestly, no. Both Telugu and Tamil audiences love cinema with equal passion. For them, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a small film or a big film – if it’s good, they embrace it wholeheartedly.
I have received so much love in Telugu states for films like Remo, Doctor, Don, Maaveeran, and Amaran. That support has been very special. I hope Madarasi, which comes with powerful content, will also be showered with the same love and encouragement.
