Bappi Lahari, the singer who popularized disco music in India, died on Wednesday the 16th due to various health problems, doctors treating him said. He is 69 years old.
Buppi Lahari was hospitalized for a month and was discharged on Monday, but was taken back to the hospital on Tuesday with declining health, he died of a number of health problems, most notably OSA (obstructive sleep apnea), doctors said.
Buppi Lahari became world famous with his songs Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaa … and later super hit music for Jakmi and Laho Ke Do Pung in the 1970s and 1980s films.

Born in 1952 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Buppi became close to music at an early age when his father Aparesh Lahari and mother Bansari Lahiri became musicians. He started playing the tabla when he was 3 years old, after which he still grew up.
Buppi Lahari has a wife, two children and his last song was Bhankas sung for Baaghi 3 which came out in 2020. Buppi Lahari recently came to the Bigg Boss show hosted by Salman Khan for his grandson album song promotion.
