“Jethly Trailer Promises a Wild Ride of Action and Comedy”
If Mission Impossible were made with Satya, it would look something like Jethly, says director Ritesh Rana. The film promises a fresh and unique blend of action and comedy, offering audiences a completely new experience.
Presented by Mythri Movie Makers, Jethly stars comedian-turned-hero Satya, who reunites with director Ritesh Rana for this quirky entertainer. Produced under the Clap Entertainment banner by Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu, the film is gearing up for a theatrical release on May 1. The makers recently launched the trailer, raising curiosity among audiences.
In the film, Satya plays a distinctive character—an individual who has lost his memory and is searching for his identity. Instead of finding answers, he is constantly met with satire and mockery from those around him. Rather than taking an emotional route, the film treats this concept entirely with a comedic approach, which stands out as its biggest strength.
Another interesting aspect seen in the trailer is the contrast between reality and perception. While others see Satya as a joke, he perceives himself as a larger-than-life action hero. This mismatch creates a consistent stream of humor throughout the film. Even the action sequences are designed with a parody touch, adding to the entertainment.
Satya delivers laughs effortlessly with his natural, understated performance, proving once again his strength in comedy without trying too hard.
Riya Singh impresses not only with her glamour but also in action sequences, while Vennela Kishore and Viva Harsha elevate the film with their trademark humor.
Director Ritesh Rana has elevated his signature style further in this film. On the technical front, the trailer is visually appealing, with Suresh Sarang providing vibrant visuals and Kaala Bhairava’s music syncing perfectly with the film’s energetic tone. Editing is handled by Karthika Srinivas, and production design is by Narni Srinivas.
Overall, the trailer suggests that Jethly is a fun-filled, unconventional entertainer designed to deliver laughter and madness. The film is all set to amuse audiences with its full-on quirky energy.
Satya shared that he instantly liked the story narrated by Ritesh Rana and was particularly drawn to his character. He mentioned that the role leans more toward comedy than a typical heroic portrayal, with even the action presented in a humorous way. He added that the interactions between characters are highly engaging and expressed confidence that audiences will enjoy the film in theatres on May 1.
Director Ritesh Rana explained that the story was designed specifically around Satya’s style and characterization, which further enhanced the comedy. He expressed happiness with the final output and reiterated that Jethly would feel like a Mission Impossible-style film with a comedic twist, offering something new to Telugu cinema.
Producer Cherry revealed that the film was completed in just over five months, including both shooting and production formalities. He highlighted a unique aspect of the film—around 80% of the shoot was done inside a flight, making it a first-of-its-kind concept in Telugu cinema. Initially planned as an intense thriller with a big star, the project later evolved into a comedy thriller, which he believes worked out perfectly.
Vennela Kishore teased his role, saying audiences will discover his character name only in theatres. He hinted at unexpected and bizarre events unfolding during a flight journey from Dubai, adding a layer of mystery and humor.
Riya Singh, who plays Shivani, said she learned a lot from the film and praised the team’s hard work. She noted that the film offers a fresh experience since most of it is set inside a flight.
Srinivas Reddy revealed that he plays a character named Father Phoenix, hinting at dangerous encounters during the flight. Gundu Sudarshan shared that he plays Noorjahan and teased a dramatic situation involving an operation mid-flight that leads to chaos.
With its unique setting, quirky storytelling, and blend of action and comedy, Jethly is shaping up to be an entertaining ride that aims to offer something refreshingly different to audiences.
