I Played an Impactful Role with Strong Performance Scope in Biker — Malavika Nair
Charming star Sharwanand’s much-awaited sports drama Biker is gearing up for release. Starring Malavika Nair as the female lead, the film also features Rajasekhar in a powerful role. Directed by Abhilash Reddy and produced under the prestigious UV Creations banner, Biker is being touted as India’s first complete motocross drama. The film has already generated huge buzz and is set to hit theatres on April 3.

How did your journey with Biker begin?
I heard the story in April 2024 and instantly loved it. Director Abhilash wrote a very fresh and unique character. Biker is India’s first motocross film, and I’m very excited about it. It’s a high-adrenaline, high-octane film, and the music is fantastic.
Tell us about your character in the film
I don’t want to reveal too much about my role. My character acts like a bridge in the story. Family plays a crucial role in a sportsman’s life, and the film reflects that beautifully. It shows a husband and wife making decisions together. The story unfolds across three timelines, and my character evolves along with it. It’s an impactful role with great scope for performance.
How was your experience working with Sharwanand?
Both of us are introverts in real life, so we don’t talk much off-screen. But on screen, we share great chemistry. Sharwanand is very spontaneous as an actor. During promotions, we got to interact more and connect better.
The film is being compared to F1-style racing films. What do you think?
Motocross is a very challenging sport to shoot. The film’s technical aspects, especially the music, give a great high. At the same time, it has strong family emotions. The father-son relationship is particularly special. Every character in the film has a well-defined arc.
Are there any dance numbers in the film?
Yes, there’s a song called “Pretty Baby.” It has been beautifully choreographed by Sekhar Master, and audiences will definitely enjoy it.
Do you have scenes with Rajasekhar?
Yes, I do. It was a great experience working with him. Despite being such a senior actor, he is very approachable and friendly on set. He listens to everyone, which is a wonderful quality. He’s a very kind person.

The music is very special in this film. Ghibran has done an outstanding job with the background score. He has created memorable soundtracks for each character, and the music really elevates the film.
How is director Abhilash Reddy?
Abhilash is a very clear-headed director. He knows exactly what the story and characters need. He also ensures that the shoot is completed on time. He’s a strong leader, and Biker will be very different from his previous films.
Why are you selective about your films?
I always want to do something new. I look for characters with different layers. If such roles come my way, I definitely take them up.
How do you choose your scripts?
Before accepting a role, I think about the audience because we make films for them. I also check whether I personally connect with the character. If it feels fresh and new, I go for it. I’m very happy with my journey so far and hope to do even better roles in the future.
