Mega Prince Varun Tej’s most awaited movie ‘Matka’ is directed by Karuna Kumar and produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajini Talluri under Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments with a high budget. Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi are the heroines. The movie’s teaser and trailer have created a huge buzz. The ‘Matka’ album composed by star music director G.V. Prakash Kumar has become a chartbuster hit. The highly anticipated ‘Matka’ is set to release on November 14. On this occasion, heroine Meenakshi Chaudhary shared movie highlights at a press meet.
You had a super hit with ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ for Diwali and now ‘Matka’ is coming. How does it feel?
– I am very happy. This is every actor’s dream. ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ was a success and now ‘Matka’ is coming. In the same month, my movie ‘Mechanic Rocky’ is also ready for release. Having three movies release in the same month is a great joy for an actor. It’s a special moment for me. I’m very excited about ‘Matka’.
Tell us about your character in ‘Matka’.
– I play Sujatha in ‘Matka’, who is Vasu’s love interest. My role spans three different phases and travels alongside Vasu’s character. It’s a life journey.
Sujatha seems to be a very positive character. Does she play an important role in Vasu’s life?
– Yes, Sujatha is a very positive character and plays a significant role in Vasu’s life. There is an innocence to Sujatha. She is like a light in Vasu’s life. My character is relatable to everyone.
Since it’s a life journey, was the makeover challenging?
– It involved a very exciting transformation. The movie has a vintage look. The character’s appearance changes as the story progresses through different life stages. The director was very particular about the look and carefully designed it with sketches. Great care was taken with makeup, hairstyles, and costumes. It was truly a wonderful experience.
Did playing Sujatha feel challenging to you?
– Definitely, there were challenges in playing this character. It is a period drama, and body language is different compared to modern times. To achieve that, preparation and homework were necessary, and I did it. It felt very exciting. This movie has a unique look compared to any character I have played so far. It was a new experience, and I enjoyed it a lot.
How was your working experience with the hero?
– Working with Varun Tej was a wonderful experience. Varun is an amazing human being and very helpful on set. He has great knowledge about cinema. He performed brilliantly as Vasu and worked very hard.
Can you tell us about your combination song?
– Yes, there is a love song in our combination. It portrays a life story beautifully. The director presented it excellently. Everyone has put in 100% effort for this movie, and I am confident that it will be a great success.
What about the producers of ‘Matka’?
– The producers have made this film with great passion. Working under their production was a wonderful experience.
What genres do you like to work in?
– I like all genres. If the story is good, I am interested in doing different kinds of roles. Currently, I am shooting for ‘Sankranti Ki Vastram’.
