What can you tell us about your character in ‘Zebra’?
– ‘Zebra’ unfolds in two contrasting worlds—a bank and a gangster’s domain. I play an intense and powerful gangster role. The entire narrative revolves around financial crimes centered on the banking sector. We often hear about financial crimes, but as common people, we don’t know the intricacies of banking operations. This film delves into the banking system with a backdrop of financial crime. Director Eeshvar based the story on true incidents, making the film both thrilling and authentic. The movie has turned out exceptionally well.
How did you feel when the director narrated the story?
– I was very surprised. We all hear about financial crimes but rarely understand how they unfold. When the director narrated the story, it felt vivid and real. He came with a well-prepared bound script.
Eeshvar has crafted ‘Zebra’ as a mass entertainer with all commercial elements. He seamlessly blended comedy, fun, and action, creating a fresh and unique screenplay that will captivate audiences.
What was it like working with Satya Dev?
– Satya Dev is an incredibly organic and versatile actor. He’s also a very good friend of mine. Working with him was enjoyable, and I believe this film will bring us significant success. Every character in this film plays an important role, and the story gives importance to each one of them.
What about the producers?
– SN Reddy, Bala Sundaram, and Dinesh Sundaram are passionate producers who ensured that the film had everything it needed. They have produced it on a grand scale.
Tell us about Ravi Basrur’s music?
– Ravi Basrur has given extraordinary music. Audiences know the exceptional work he did in ‘KGF’ and ‘Salaar’. In ‘Zebra’, you will see a new side of Ravi Basrur. The music is distinct, and the background score is phenomenal.
How do you feel when Telugu audiences call you Jolly Reddy?
– The character of Jolly Reddy in ‘Pushpa’ is one of the most memorable roles in my career. It’s heartwarming that Telugu audiences embraced it and called me ‘our Jolly Reddy’. I will always cherish the love shown to that character. I’m looking forward to doing more Telugu films and entertaining the audience.
