“Hey Bhagavan Is an Emotional Entertainer – Producer B. Narendra Reddy
After delivering successful entertainers like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambai, and Eesha, the hit duo Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are now presenting a full-length, wholesome entertainer titled Hey Bhagavan. The film is being brought to audiences under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works.
Directed by Gopi Achara, Hey Bhagavan stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanthi in key roles. The film is produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner and is slated for a theatrical release on February 20. On this occasion, the producer interacted with the media and shared insights about the film.
Tell us about your background and how your interest in films began.
I am originally from Proddatur in Kadapa district. Currently, I am into the construction business in Bengaluru. My love for films started in childhood. That passion eventually brought me into cinema. I first entered the Kannada film industry as a producer, and Hey Bhagavan marks my first Telugu film as a producer.
How did you step into film production?
Initially, I was involved in financing Kannada films. Over time, my passion grew stronger, and I decided to actively produce films rather than just finance them.
How did Hey Bhagavan get finalized?
Our executive producer Ramana Reddy narrated the story. Before this, I had listened to nearly ten scripts, but none truly impressed me. The moment I heard Hey Bhagavan, I felt it had a perfect balance of entertainment and emotion. That instant connection made me say yes.
What convinced you to take up this project? How was your first Telugu production experience?
The story was the biggest strength. The film was completed strictly within budget and as per planning. Every rupee spent is visible on screen. The output has come out exceptionally well. The father-son emotional track, in particular, will deeply touch the audience.
What was your reaction after watching the final output?
The same excitement I felt while listening to the narration remained intact on screen. Audiences will feel fully engaged throughout. Every scene is entertaining. Suhas, Naresh garu, and comedians Sudarshan and Vennela Kishore will leave a strong impact with their performances.
Are there any major twists in the interval and climax?
Absolutely. The screenplay has been designed to surprise the audience. Both the interval and climax will go beyond expectations, and every scene feels fresh and engaging.
How was your experience working with Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati?
My association with Vamsi has been there from the beginning. He understands the story deeply, and we have been on the same journey throughout. With Bunny Vas and Vamsi backing the film, my confidence in its success has increased tremendously.
How involved were you creatively as a producer?
We do not interfere in the creative process. Once the story is approved, our role is to ensure the film progresses smoothly—monitoring budgets, daily shoots, and overall planning from a producer’s perspective.
Do you think film production is a risky business?
If a story can engage the audience for two hours without disconnect, it will definitely succeed. That’s the principle I follow while listening to scripts. Since my love for cinema comes from childhood, I don’t see production as a major risk.
What did you learn from this film?
I have been involved in backend production work since 2017, so I come with experience. Proper planning, discipline, and right guidance are crucial. Hey Bhagavan strengthened my belief in systematic filmmaking.
What kind of films do you want to make in the future?
I want to produce films that combine strong emotions with entertainment. Construction and filmmaking are very different, but cinema gives me creative satisfaction.
What’s next for you as a producer?
My next film will be based on friendship. Satyadev will play the lead, and it will be directed by Lakshminarayana. It’s a complete commercial entertainer in a genre Satyadev has not explored before, with Faria Abdullah as the female lead.
