Superstar Dhanush, King Nagarjuna, and National Crush Rashmika Mandanna are coming together for one of the most anticipated pan-India films — Kubera, directed by the acclaimed Shekhar Kammula. With its powerful cast and unique narrative, Kubera is poised to be a game-changer in Indian cinema. The film’s promotional content, including songs like Poyira Mama and Trance of Kubera, has already taken social media and music charts by storm.
Backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd and SVCLLP, Kubera boasts high production values and is set for a grand worldwide release on June 20, in six languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The makers recently hosted a spectacular event in Mumbai to launch the film’s vibrant track Pi Pi Dum Dum, attended by the lead cast and crew.
Dhanush: “Kubera is a Very Special Film”
“Kubera is a very special and different film for me — close to my heart. Working on it was a fantastic experience. It was an absolute joy sharing screen space with Nagarjuna sir. We had a very positive team, and I played a beggar in this film — a role I’ve never attempted before. I won’t say I did heavy research for it (laughs), but I simply followed Shekhar sir’s brilliant direction. He is a pure soul, and his energy convinced me to say yes within 20 minutes of narration. This film brought back memories from my childhood. One of the days, Rashmika and I shot for over 7 hours in a dumping yard. Despite the setting, she was totally fine — even joked she couldn’t smell anything! Kubera has given me many unforgettable memories. I’m confident the audience will love it on June 20.”
Nagarjuna: “A Film That Reflects Purity”
“Thanks to all the fans for your unwavering love — from Shiva to Criminal, and even my dubbed films. Kubera is a very special project. I’ve been wanting to work with Shekhar for over 15 years. When he narrated the story, I instantly said yes. He’s a filmmaker with great sensibilities and a pure heart, and that shows in every frame. Working with Jim Sarbh was a great experience — he speaks Telugu so well! Rashmika is a powerhouse performer, delivering hit after hit, and she was phenomenal in this film. After watching the dubbing, I personally called and congratulated her. Devi Sri Prasad, my favorite music director, has elevated this film with outstanding music. And Dhanush is a brilliant actor who always brings freshness to his roles. It was a joy working with him. I hope everyone enjoys the film on June 20.”
Rashmika Mandanna: “A Role to Remember”
“As an actor, Kubera was an eye-opening experience. Everything was shot in real locations, which added so much depth to our performances. It was a pleasure working with legends like Nagarjuna sir and Dhanush sir. Shekhar sir is a wonderful director, and I’m eagerly looking forward to how audiences react to my character. I believe this role will stay with viewers just like Geetanjali, Srivalli, or Maharani Yesubai.”
Jim Sarbh: “A Challenging Yet Fulfilling Role”
“Most of my scenes are with Nagarjuna sir, and it was an incredible experience. He’s extremely relaxed and supportive. For this film, I delivered all my dialogues in Telugu — which was quite a challenge. But I enjoyed every bit of it. Shekhar sir’s vision for my character was compelling, and I’m proud to be a part of such a phenomenal project. Kubera is a film everyone will love.”
The grand launch of Pi Pi Dum Dum turned into a celebration of cinema, passion, and collaboration, further building anticipation for Kubera’s theatrical release on June 20.
