Gandhi Tatha Chettu: A Stellar Performance by Sukriti Veni Impresses Sensational Director Sukumar
The highly anticipated film Gandhi Tatha Chettu, featuring Sukumar Bandreddi’s daughter Sukriti Veni Bandreddi in the lead role, is set to hit theatres on January 24th. Directed by Padmavati Malladi and produced by and Gopi Talkies, the film promises to be a cinematic treat. At a recent media interaction in Hyderabad, the film’s team shared their insights and experiences. Speaking at the event, director Sukumar expressed his amazement at his daughter’s acting prowess. He revealed, “Sukriti began singing in Standard IX and was always playful at home, so I doubted her acting abilities. Initially, I was reluctant to let her act. However, Padmavati akka’s insistence led me to reconsider. Watching Sukriti’s first performance clip left me pleasantly surprised. I expect exceptional acting from my artists, and Sukriti surpassed my expectations.”
Sukumar, known for his meticulous casting process, added, “I spend months finding the right artists for my films. For Rangasthalam and Pushpa, the casting process took 8-9 months. Sukriti’s versatility amazed me, and I am proud to say she performed exceptionally well. I commend producer Sindhu Rao for her dedication to completing this film. Director Padmavati akka’s script and narration were so compelling that I was instantly hooked. I am confident she will achieve great success in the future.”
He also shared a personal anecdote, “When I narrated the Arya script to Chiranjeevi garu, Allu Aravind garu questioned my ability to execute the project due to my inexperience. Chiranjeevi garu trusted me because of my effective narration. Similarly, I believe in Padmavati akka’s talent and thank her for casting my daughter.”
Tabitha Sukumar, also present at the event, acknowledged her initial doubts about Sukriti’s acting skills. “The director’s trust in Sukriti’s abilities made all the difference. I am grateful to Mythri Movie Makers and my husband for bringing this film to the audience. Our film’s success in the festival circuit motivated us to aim for a theatrical release, which is now becoming a reality. I urge the audience to support Gandhi Tatha Chettu.” Tabitha turned emotional, reflecting on her daughter’s journey.
