“Excited to Make My Debut with the Divine Thriller ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva'”: Mansa Varansi
Superstar Krishna’s grandson and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s nephew, Ashok Galla, is set to captivate audiences with his second movie, ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.’ Directed by Arjun Jandyala, who previously delivered a hit with ‘Guna 369,’ this film boasts a compelling story by Prasanth Varma. Mansa Varansi stars as the lead actress, with the film produced by Somineni Balakrishna under the Lalithambika Productions banner, presented by Nallapaneni Yamini. The teaser, trailer, and songs have already generated significant buzz ahead of the movie’s November 22 release. During a recent press meet, Mansa Varansi shared insights about the movie and her experiences.
Can you tell us about your background?
“I was born in Hyderabad and studied up to 10th grade in Malaysia. Later, I completed my engineering in Hyderabad and worked in the corporate sector. I participated in the Miss India pageant, won the title, and represented India in the Miss World competition. At one point, I contemplated whether to continue my job or pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry. I attended acting workshops, developed a passion for cinema, and gained the confidence to pursue acting. After participating in auditions, I started learning more about the film industry—it’s truly a new world for me.”
How do you feel about making your debut with ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’?
“I am delighted to make my debut with a commercial divine thriller like ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva.’ Working with this team is a privilege, and I am excited for the film’s release. It’s been an incredible experience.”
Can you tell us about your character in the movie?
“I play Satyabhama, a vibrant and lovable girl from Vizianagaram. The film is set against the backdrop of Vizianagaram. Satyabhama is playful, mysterious, and resilient, facing challenges with courage. This character resonated with me on a personal level and plays a significant role in the story.”
What challenges did you face during your first film?
“The first film always comes with its challenges. I had to quickly adapt to the terminology used on set and the language of cinema. I also had to embody the body language and dialect of a rural girl, which was a unique challenge but an enjoyable process. It has been a roller-coaster ride and a huge learning experience.”
How was your experience working with Ashok Galla?
“Ashok is highly professional and passionate about cinema. Working with him was an absolute joy. He often shared insights he learned from Mahesh Babu, making it a collaborative and enriching experience.”
What element of the story impressed you the most?
“When I first heard the story, it blew my mind. It’s an intriguing and engaging narrative. I consider myself fortunate to debut with such a strong script and memorable character. Satyabhama’s role will leave a lasting impression.”
Can you share your thoughts on the film’s music?
“Bheems composed the music, and he has taken it to another level. The songs have already become hits, and his passion is evident in every track. We have four songs in the film, and my favorites are ‘Emayinde’ and ‘Bangaram,’ the latter being a mass number beautifully choreographed by Vijay.”
How was your experience with the production house?
“Balakrishna sir is a passionate producer who provided immense support. Thanks to him, the film turned out grand. I learned a lot from the production house’s approach and dedication.”
What are your favorite film genres?
“I enjoy romance, comedy, and mystery thrillers. However, if the story is compelling, I’m open to any genre.”
Did you always have an interest in movies?
“Yes, I grew up watching films of Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh, and Nagarjuna. Over the last four years, my interest in films has grown even more.”
Can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
“I’m currently working on ‘Couple Friendly,’ a bilingual film in Telugu and Tamil under the UV Creations banner.”
