‘Every Character in Ameer Log Is Important’ : Vedha Jalandhar
Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media is set to release ‘Ameer Log’ in Telugu on August 21
‘Ameer Log’ marks the maiden production venture of Madhavi Reddy Soma under the Awwal Number Productions banner. Directed by Ramana Reddy Soma, the film has Manohar Reddy Manchuri as co-producer. MC Hari, Manoj and Sashidhar are playing the lead roles, while Vedha Jalandhar, Ravan Nitturu, Vishwender Reddy and Sai Yogi are essaying key characters.
With the film gearing up for a grand Telugu release on August 21 through Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the team is actively promoting the movie. Actress Vedha Jalandhar, who plays a key role in the film, spoke about her character, her journey in cinema, working with the team, sync sound and what audiences can expect from ‘Ameer Log’.
Tell us about your journey in the film industry?
I started my career in 2019. Two films I worked on were screened at international film festivals, but unfortunately, they did not get theatrical releases. Later, I underwent theatre training to strengthen my acting skills. My journey so far has been a continuous process of learning and understanding the craft. I have genuinely enjoyed every opportunity to act and be part of films.
What kind of role are you playing in ‘Ameer Log’?
My character is very much like a girl next door. She is a strong woman who can inspire others. In fact, my mother has always been my biggest inspiration, and I feel some of her qualities reflect in my character.
My mother taught me to be straightforward and express my thoughts without hesitation. My character also has that quality. She speaks her mind and stands by what she believes in. That made the role even more special to me.
How did you get the opportunity to work in ‘Ameer Log’?
Director Ramana Reddy garu was not familiar with my work in ‘Thimmarajupalli TV’. Bashir Master informed us about the auditions for ‘Ameer Log’. I attended the audition and gave my best. Fortunately, Ramana garu liked my performance and selected me immediately. I am very happy that the audition opened the doors for this film.
What kind of response have you received from those who have watched the film?
The response has been very encouraging. Almost everyone who watched the film spoke about my character and appreciated my performance. That gives me a lot of confidence.
Even though I have done only one or two films so far, audiences are remembering my characters. For me, that is more important than simply being part of many films. I want to choose roles that have substance and make an impact, so I am being selective about the projects I take up.
We hear that biryani has an important role in ‘Ameer Log’. Is that true?
Yes, you can almost say that biryani is a character in the film! (Laughs) It has been beautifully integrated into the story and is an important element in the narrative. I feel the way it has been presented will connect with audiences. The film has several interesting elements, and biryani is certainly one of them.
How was your experience working with sync sound?
I had already worked on a feature film that was shot using sync sound, so I knew that it comes with its own challenges. No matter how carefully we work, sounds from the surroundings can also get recorded, making it difficult to shoot certain scenes.
However, the entire team cooperated extremely well. Even the people living in the basti where we shot were very supportive. Since that area is also connected to Ramana garu’s family, we received tremendous cooperation from everyone. Their support made our work much easier. (Laughs)
Do you feel disappointed that only one or two of your films have been released in six years?
I don’t look at it purely in terms of the number of films released. For me, what matters is how audiences receive my work and what kind of characters I get to portray.
When I look back at my six-year journey, I feel satisfied with the roles I have chosen and the experiences I have gained. Whether a film gets released or not is not entirely in an actor’s hands. What we can control is our performance and the kind of work we choose. I believe the right opportunities will come at the right time.

How important is music in ‘Ameer Log’?
Smaran garu’s music has taken the film to another level. He has composed wonderful music for the movie. There are certain emotions that cannot always be completely conveyed through visuals or dialogue, and his background score beautifully brings those emotions to the audience.
Music plays a very important role in our film, and I feel Smaran garu has contributed significantly to its overall impact.
Tell us about the lead characters in ‘Ameer Log’.
Every character in ‘Ameer Log’ has its own importance. There are no characters that feel unnecessary, and audiences will be able to connect with each of them in their own way.
It was a wonderful experience working with Hari, Manoj and Sasi. We had a lot of fun together on the sets. That comfort also helped us bring out the emotions and relationships naturally on screen.
How was your experience working with the technical team?
Ramana Reddy garu took great care of the entire team. He would clearly explain how he wanted every scene to look and what he expected from each actor. We even conducted demo shoots before filming certain sequences, which helped us understand the director’s vision better.
We shot the film in the area where Madhavi Reddy garu was born and brought up. The people there welcomed us warmly and took very good care of the entire team.
Our DOP is a very quiet person and speaks very little, but his work speaks volumes. His visual contribution to the film is exceptional.
What kind of response did you receive from the Spirit Media team and other celebrities?
The Spirit Media team watched the film and appreciated it a lot. VN Aditya garu also watched the premiere and had very positive things to say about the film.
He particularly appreciated my character and said it was not a routine role. He felt the character was written in a way that audiences could easily connect with. He also appreciated the performances and how effectively they complemented Ramana garu’s writing.
Those words were very encouraging for me because they came from someone who understood the film and its characters deeply.

Did the language and local dialect create any difficulties? Will audiences from different regions understand the film?
I don’t think the language or dialect will be a barrier for the audience. At the end of the day, emotions are universal. Whether it is happiness, pain, love, conflict or family relationships, people everywhere understand these emotions.
‘Ameer Log’ has characters and emotions that audiences from different sections and regions can connect with. I strongly believe the film will reach a wide range of viewers and leave a lasting impression.
What would you like to tell audiences about ‘Ameer Log’?
‘Ameer Log’ is a film with strong characters, relatable emotions and an interesting story. Every character has a purpose and importance in the narrative. I sincerely hope audiences enjoy the film and connect with our performances.
Please watch ‘Ameer Log’ in theatres on August 21 and support our entire team. I am confident that the film will give audiences a memorable experience.
