Eesha Will Leave Audiences Emotionally Moved— Producer KL Damodar Prasad

Eesha Will Leave Audiences Emotionally Moved— Producer KL Damodar Prasad

Director Srinivas Manne, who earlier impressed audiences with Katha starring Genelia, returns after a brief hiatus with his new horror thriller Eesha. Backed by successful producers Bunny Vass and Vamsi Nandipati—known for recent cult hits like Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambhaai—the film is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on December 12 under the banners of Vamsi Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vass Works.

The movie features Trigun and Akhil Raj in lead roles, with Hebbah Patel as the female lead. Siri Hanumanthu, Babloo, and Prithviraj also play key roles. Eesha is produced by Hem Venkateswara Rao of HVR Productions and presented by acclaimed producer KL Damodar Prasad.

In a media interaction, Damodar Prasad spoke at length about why Eesha stands out as a unique emotional-horror experience:

Why He Chose Eesha
“After my previous film Father Chitti Umaa Kaarthik, which unfortunately didn’t reach the audience despite having strong content, I was looking for stories that felt compelling. When Srinivas Manne narrated Eesha, the story immediately caught my attention. It felt fresh and intense, and I decided to take it up without hesitation.”

Faith in Director Srinivas Manne
“Srinivas Manne took complete charge of the film. He’s a passionate filmmaker who works incredibly hard. Often, such dedication goes unnoticed in the industry, but he has delivered a strong film here. I watched Eesha two to three times during post-production, and I’m confident audiences will connect deeply with it.”

A Different Kind of Horror Experience
“Horror thrillers usually rely heavily on dramatic moments and cinematic liberties. Eesha uses some of that too, but the core of the film is grounded in emotion and realism. That’s what will stay with the audience. They’ll walk out with a realistic emotional feel—something very personal.”

Praise for the Cast
“Trigun, Hebbah Patel, and Akhil Raj delivered excellent performances. In this genre, casting is crucial—any mismatch weakens the experience. All three leads fit their roles perfectly. Trigun and Hebbah, who haven’t received the recognition they deserve recently, will benefit greatly from this film. Akhil Raj, who recently scored a hit with Raju Weds Rambhaai, brings solid energy. Prithviraj’s character will also be a major highlight.”

Sound, Music & Technical Strength
“For a horror thriller, sound and visuals must be top-notch, and Eesha excels in both. The film features two beautiful songs sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Shankar Mahadevan. I insisted that they be brought on board, and the results are outstanding.”

On Trusting His Team
“Initially, nobody even knew I was involved in this project. When I trust a director, I give them full responsibility. I rarely visit sets. Post-lockdown, the cinema business has changed dramatically, and as producers, we need to step out of our comfort zones.”

On the Industry’s Current Challenges
“There was a time our banner produced three to four films a year. Today, the landscape is very different. Issues like what happened with Akhanda 2 have become more common. These challenges must be resolved at the producer level—neither the industry nor the producer council can do much.”
