Dhanush’s ‘Kara’ Locks April 30 Telugu Release
Marking his much-anticipated return to Telugu cinema, Dhanush’s upcoming film Kara has officially locked its Telugu theatrical release for April 30, 2026. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film is already generating strong buzz across multiple markets.
The Telugu version will be distributed by CH Sathish Kumar and Rajesh Kumar Bobbara under the banner of Vigneswara Entertainments in association with R Star Logistics, ensuring a wide and impactful release across the Telugu states.
Backed by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International, in collaboration with Think Studios and Vigneswara Entertainments, Kara has steadily built momentum not just in Tamil, but also in Telugu and overseas territories.
Dhanush enjoys a loyal fan base among Telugu audiences, thanks to successful films like Raghuvaran B.Tech, Asuran, and Vaathi. With Kara, he returns with a project that already carries high expectations and growing curiosity.
One of the major highlights so far has been the Telugu song Kannamma Naa Kannamma, which has crossed over 4.1 million views on YouTube, striking an emotional chord with the audience. Despite being the only Telugu track released so far, it has played a crucial role in setting the tone and drawing attention to the film.
Interestingly, Telugu audiences have also been actively engaging with the Tamil promotional content — songs, glimpses, and interviews — reflecting Kara’s strong cross-language appeal. This organic reach across regions indicates that the film is not just a regional release, but a content-driven project gaining traction on a broader scale, including international markets.
Director Vignesh Raja, who earned critical acclaim for Por Thozhil, is expected to deliver a gripping narrative backed by intense performances and rooted storytelling.
The film features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, alongside a strong supporting cast including Jayaram, K. S. Ravikumar, Karunas, and M. S. Bhaskar.
On the technical front, Kara boasts a highly skilled crew. Cinematographer Theni Eswar brings a naturalistic visual texture, while editor Sreejith Sarang ensures a crisp narrative pace. Music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, whose previous works have resonated strongly with Telugu audiences. Action choreography is handled by Dinesh Kasi, with Mayapandi as art director. Costumes are designed by Dinesh Manoharan and Kavya Sriraam, while makeup is led by Raja, with special makeup by Promeon Xavier—adding authenticity and depth to the film’s visual appeal.
With strong pre-release buzz fueled by music, content, and widespread audience engagement, coupled with Dhanush’s consistent popularity, Kara is shaping up to be a promising theatrical experience.
