* Dhanush Declares “I’m 2000% Confident About Kuberaa” at Star-Studded Audio Launch in Chennai
* Nagarjuna Reminisces About Chennai Roots; Sekhar Kammula Calls Dhanush a “Phenomenal Persona”
The audio launch of Kuberaa, the much-anticipated Telugu-Tamil bilingual film directed by Sekhar Kammula and starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna, was held with grandeur in Chennai. The event drew a large crowd of fans, media personnel, and film industry stalwarts, making it an unforgettable celebration.
The evening sparkled with the presence of stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, director Sekhar Kammula, composer Devi Sri Prasad, and producers Suniel Narang, Jhanvi Narang, Bharat Narang, and Simran Narang. Cinematographer Niketh Bommi, production designer Thotta Tharani, and lyricists Viveka, Chandrabose, and Nanda Kishore were also in attendance, each sharing heartfelt reflections on the film.
Rashmika Mandanna charmed the audience with her playful energy, responding to cheers with, “I love you too!” She expressed her gratitude to director Sekhar Kammula for including her in the project and revealed her desire to act alongside Dhanush again—this time in a full-fledged romantic drama.
Music director Devi Sri Prasad expressed his joy over the audience’s overwhelming response to Kuberaa‘s tracks “Poyiraa Mama” and “Trance of Kuberaa.” He reminisced about his earlier collaborations with Dhanush in Kutty and Venghai, and looked forward to another musical milestone with Kuberaa.
Director Sekhar Kammula reserved high praise for Dhanush, describing him as “a phenomenal persona”—a rare talent who seamlessly dons multiple hats as an actor, director, producer, singer, and lyricist. With unshakable confidence, he stated, “Kuberaa is a brilliant film. A very, very brilliant film.” He also acknowledged the dedication of his crew and gave special appreciation to costume designer Kavya Sriram, noting that her work deserves awards.
Nagarjuna, reflecting on his personal journey, shared an emotional connection with Chennai—his birthplace, where he studied engineering in Guindy, married into a local family, and began his film career. He thanked the city and its audience for their enduring love and teased, “Right after Kuberaa, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is ready to take audiences by surprise!”
As the evening reached its emotional peak, Dhanush took the stage, beginning with a resonant chant: “Om Namah Shivaay.” Speaking with intensity, he remarked on the current state of the world: “This is Kalikaalam—a time when hatred, jealousy, and negativity seem to overpower goodness.” He lauded director Sekhar Kammula as “a pure soul, like a divine angel,” and expressed deep gratitude to producers Suniel and Jhanvi Narang for their unwavering belief in the film’s message and purpose.
Dhanush shared a deeply moving anecdote from the film’s first day of shooting—barefoot, under the scorching Tirupati sun, dressed as a beggar. The experience, he said, reminded him of life’s most essential truths, evoking memories of filming Raanjhaana in the spiritually charged lanes of Banaras. “Greed, wealth, and material pleasure are nothing,” he reflected. “What matters is a pure soul. Kuberaa will make you feel that truth. I am 2000% confident in the power of this film.”
With a passionate team and a powerful story, Kuberaa is more than just a film—it’s an emotional and spiritual journey. The film is slated for release on June 20th.
