Dasari Narayana Rao statue unveiled in Chitrapuri Colony
On the occasion of the 76th birth anniversary of director Dasari Narayana Rao, a statue of him was unveiled at Chitrapuri Colony in Hyderabad on Thursday. Chitrapuri Colony President Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni, Chitrapuri Committee, Minister of Cinematography Talasani Srinivasa Yadav was the chief guest in this event.The producers of this program are C. Kalyan, Damodara Prasad, Directors N Shankar, Raylangi Narasimha Rao, Dasari’s son Arun Kumar, Filmchamber President Basireddy, Producer Prasanna Kumar, Manikonda Municipal Councilors Vallabhaneni Haimanjali Anil Kumar, Vasantarao Chauhan, Chitrapuri Colony Secretary PSN Dora and others were present.
Chitrapuri Colony President Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni said…We are happy to install the statue of director Dasari Narayana Rao in our Chitrapuri Colony on his birth anniversary. In fact, along with Dasari’s statue, on the occasion of the centenary, the statue of NTR and the statues of Chitrapuri Colony architect Dr. M. Prabhakara Reddy were also planned to be unveiled on the same day.But after the elders suggested that it would be better if they were arranged on the occasion of their birth anniversary, we unveiled only the statue of Dasari today.
Cinematography Department Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav said… Dasari was favored by the workers of 24 departments while being a partisan of the film workers. They were the big direction of the film industry. He worked for the welfare of workers without considering his own health. Mahanidu Dasari who directed more than 150 films as a director and achieved Guinness book records. His films had a useful message for the society.Dasari made films for public interest and influenced people. Movies like Bobbili Puli, Sardar Paparayudu, Osei Ramulamma became popular. He has received many awards along with audience appreciation. We are lucky to have such a director in the Telugu film industry. He served the public as a political leader. Served the country by working as Union Minister. After the death of Dasari, the film industry lost its direction.
I had a good relationship with him for many years. It is a pleasure to install his statue in Chitrapuri Colony. The Telangana government is providing all necessary support to the film industry. Next year we will announce awards for films on behalf of the state government. Said.
