Darling: Primeshow Entertainment’s upcoming film Darling is creating a buzz with its promise of heartwarming entertainment for the whole family. Producer Chaitanya Reddy, fresh off the success of the blockbuster Hanu-Man, recently spoke to the media about the film.
Darling is a romantic comedy starring Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh. Reddy explains the film’s origin: “The director, Ashwin Ram, and his wife have been married for fourteen years. They observed how life can become routine, even movie nights becoming a chore. They wanted to capture the essence of that initial spark and the challenges couples face.” Reddy continues, “We were immediately hooked by the story’s relatable humor and ability to connect with families and young audiences alike.”
Casting was crucial, and Reddy elaborates, “The hero needed to be innocent and simple, while the heroine should be outgoing and social media savvy. Priyadarshi and Nabha perfectly embodied these contrasting characters.” The catchy title Darling wasn’t always the plan. Reddy reveals, “Initially, we considered ‘Why This Kolavari,’ but realized its limited appeal. We settled on Darling, a universal term of endearment, and added ‘Why This Kolavari’ as a tagline to pique curiosity.”
Reddy assures fans that Nabha Natesh’s recent accident did not affect the project. He highlights her positive role, stating, “She plays a strong character that empowers women.”
While Darling releases first in Telugu, Reddy hints at a potential pan-India remake, “We’ll gauge audience response and explore a broader release with a bigger cast.”
Regarding promotions, Reddy reveals, “We approached Prabhas, the star of the original Darling, but his schedule is packed. However, he’s supportive of the team.”
The film boasts with Vivek Sagar’s music and impressive background score.
Reddy, a businesswoman with a passion for cinema, enjoys both aspects of filmmaking. She states, “Cinema is ingrained in my life. While I find production enjoyable, my business background allows me to meticulously manage operations.” The highly anticipated sequel Jai Hanuman is still in pre-production. Reddy explains, “We want to do justice to the story’s grandeur, so it won’t be ready for Sankranthi.
We’re leaving the casting of Hanu-Man to divine intervention. Personally, Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi would be ideal, but ultimately, it’s God’s decision.” Reddy credits her husband, Niranjan for his creative vision and subject selection. He concludes by teasing upcoming projects, “We have multiple films lined up, including Sai Dharam Tej’s movie. Ten more films are in pre-production, ensuring a steady stream of releases over the next three years.”
