“Band Melam Will Definitely Be a Blockbuster” – Director Bobby at the Glimpse Launch Event
Presented by Mango Mass Media and produced under the Kona Film Corporation banner by Kona Venkat, Band Melam is directed by Satish Javvaji and stars Harsh Roshan and Sridevi in the lead roles. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on March 13.
On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the makers unveiled the film’s glimpse, which was launched on social media by celebrated filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas. A press meet was organized to mark the occasion, with successful director Bobby and writer BVS Ravi attending as chief guests.
Director Bobby Speaks
Director Bobby expressed strong confidence in the film’s success.
“I personally insisted that the glimpse be released on Valentine’s Day. The moment I watched it, I tracked down Roshan’s number and called him. He is going to become a big star in the future. His performance is incredibly natural and effortless.
Sukumar garu often tells me how much he likes my love story idea and jokingly asks whether I will direct it myself or let him do it. I tell him I’ll direct it myself — and if I do, Roshan will definitely be my hero.
Sridevi already has a strong social media following, and she has delivered an excellent performance in this film. I wish her continued success.
Though Satish Javvaji appears quiet, he has a sharp sense of humor and strong conviction in his writing. This film will surely become a blockbuster. I’m even jokingly worried that after this film, we might start seeing men wearing ‘thaali’ around their necks!
Vijay Bulganin’s music is impressive, and Satish Muthyala’s visuals are beautiful. Kona Venkat garu’s confidence reminds me of how he felt during Ninnu Kori. This film will create a major impact.”
Producer Kona Venkat Shares His Thoughts
Producer Kona Venkat reflected on how the project came together.
“Back in 2017, Shiva Nirvana came to my office, introduced by Shiva Turlapati. I loved the story he narrated, and I immediately felt it would become a memorable film — that later became Ninnu Kori.
When Satish Javvaji narrated Band Melam, I experienced the same feeling. In Ninnu Kori, we released a promo with a powerful line: ‘You love a man with all his habits, but marry a man without any.’ Similarly, the glimpse of Band Melam was released with a strong dialogue: ‘If marriage is about staying together, it’s not for someone who leaves midway — it should be tied to the one who has been with me since childhood.’
I decided to produce this film the moment I heard that dialogue. I’m not a regular producer; I only make films when a story truly moves me.
The moment I heard the story, I envisioned Roshan and Sridevi in the lead roles. I told Satish I would proceed only if they agreed. Soon, Vijay Bulganin, Satish Muthyala, and the entire team came on board.
Trivikram garu immediately supported us when we requested him to launch the glimpse. Bobby and BVS Ravi are very important people in my life.
Band Melam will be remembered for a lifetime. After watching the glimpse, Bobby was stunned and even predicted that Roshan could become the next Nani.
The inspiration to begin this story came from my cousin, Shivaraju Rajasekhar. I believe audiences will wholeheartedly embrace this film.”
BVS Ravi’s Response
Writer BVS Ravi shared that he had already watched the film.
“I had heard the story earlier, but after watching the completed film, I was pleasantly surprised. Satish has directed it brilliantly and will become a very successful filmmaker.

Heroine Sridevi Shares Her Excitement
Sridevi described Band Melam as a very special project.
“After Court, this was the first story I heard and immediately loved. People still recognize me as ‘Jabili,’ but with this film, I hope they remember me as ‘Rajamma.’
My character will make audiences laugh and cry. I thank Satish garu for giving me such a meaningful role, and Kona garu for trusting us and producing this film.
Vijay Bulganin’s music is one of my favorites, and it was a pleasure working with Roshan again.
Last year, Court released on March 14. This year, Band Melam is coming on March 13 — and I hope it becomes an even bigger hit.”
Director Satish Javvaji Expresses Gratitude
Director Satish Javvaji emotionally thanked the producer.
“At a time when I felt my career was at a standstill, Kona Venkat garu supported me like a hero.
I wrote every scene of this film with deep emotion and directed it with the same intensity. Roshan and Sridevi elevated those emotions through their performances.
