‘Aya Share’ Gave Me the Biggest Kick in My Career – Kasarla Shyam
The first single “Aya Share” from Natural Star Nani’s much-awaited film The Paradise has created a huge sensation worldwide. Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, the film features music composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander.
The song is currently trending across social media platforms and receiving a massive response from audiences. The Paradise is slated for a worldwide release on August 21. On this occasion, lyricist Kasarla Shyam interacted with the media and shared several interesting insights about the song and the film.
On the response to ‘Aya Share’
“Ever since the promo of ‘Aya Share’ was released, it created a strong buzz. After the full song came out, it started breaking records and has been widely appreciated by audiences. Anirudh garu beautifully tuned the lyrics in a way that connects instantly with people. Folk singers Jangireddy and Devayya rendered the song powerfully. It gives me immense happiness that the lyrics of such a ferocious and energetic song are being specially discussed.”
A song that gave him the biggest kick in his career
“This song gave me a kind of kick that no other song in my career has given before. The language and dialect used in the lyrics are receiving tremendous appreciation on social media. I received many messages from listeners. One person told me that he was feeling like he had lost everything in life, but after hearing this song he felt inspired again. Messages like these bring me great joy.”
About Nani’s character
“Nani’s character in this film carries a powerful emotional core. The braided hair (jadalu) seen in his look has a strong story behind it. Right now, everyone is talking about it. After watching the film, audiences will feel it has a beautiful justification. Many people are already recreating the look and making reels with braided hair. I’m happy that the song is reminding people of that culture.”
Credit to director Srikanth Odela
“The main reason behind the success of this song is director Srikanth Odela. The song represents a hero born from the struggles of the people who rises to inspire them. It took about a week to finalize the lyrics. We developed multiple versions before locking the final one, although the central idea was fixed immediately.”
On writing in the Telangana dialect
“I feel very happy when people say that Telangana dialect songs remind them of me. I take inspiration from senior poets like Kosaraju and Jaladi who earned special recognition through this dialect. Most of my songs are written in the Telangana dialect, though I have written songs in many different styles.”

About the National Award for Balagam
“I entered the industry believing in the beauty of rural language. Seeing that language resonate across the nation today gives me immense happiness. Words from village dialects that once faded away are now coming back through my songs, and the younger generation is also using them. That is very satisfying as a writer.”
He also shared that lyricist Chandrabose, whom he considers his mentor, personally called and appreciated him after the National Award recognition.
His journey in the industry
“My first film was Chantigadu. The song ‘Neelapuri Gajula’ gave me my first break. Later, films like LIE, Ismart Shankar, Ramulo Ramula, and DJ Tillu brought me greater recognition with successful songs.”
Working with Srikanth Odela
“Working with Srikanth garu is an amazing experience. He is a very calm person, but when he explains a scene, the emotion in his narration is powerful. When I visited the set during the shoot of this song, it felt like I was witnessing the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. His vision is extremely clear, and he works with great dedication in every department.”
Nani’s reaction to the song
“After listening to the song, Nani garu appreciated it a lot and said, ‘You gave me a kick that will last a lifetime. From Dhoom Dhaam Dostana and Chamkeela Angi to now Aya Share, you have given me unforgettable hits.’ He even posted a special tweet celebrating the song.”
About the producer
“Producer Sudhakar garu speaks very little, but his work speaks volumes. After the massive commercial success of Dasara, this combination is coming again with an even bigger vision. A whole ‘Paradise world’ has been created for this film, and the production values are unbelievable.”
Upcoming projects
Currently, Kasarla Shyam is writing songs for films like Lenin, Maa Inti Bangaram, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh, along with several other ongoing projects.
