Allu Sirish’s Buddy: A Delightful Family Entertainer

Allu Sirish’s upcoming film, Buddy, promises to be an engaging and entertaining experience for both children and adults. The two newly released trailers put the spotlight on the film’s central character, a teddy bear named Buddy.

Star Cast and Characters

In this buddy action-comedy, there is a villain, two heroines, and two heroes, with the teddy bear, Buddy stealing the limelight. Allu Sirish himself has explained that Buddy is the true hero of the film. The teddy bear’s stunts are performed by Tamil actor Gokul, who expressed his excitement and gratitude for being part of this unique project.

Ajmal Ameer plays a pivotal role in the film, adding depth to the storyline with his versatile acting. Gayatri Bhardwaj, one of the heroines, brings charm and elegance to the screen. Mukesh Rishi, a seasoned actor known for his strong performances, plays the antagonist, adding intensity to the narrative. Veteran actor Ali Basha also features in the film, contributing his comedic timing and experience to the ensemble cast.

Gokul’s Contribution

During the press event, Gokul initially tried to address the audience in English but, sensing his discomfort, Sirish encouraged him to speak in Tamil. Gokul then shared his enthusiasm for the movie, praising the makers and directors for developing a compelling story. He conveyed his happiness about being involved in the project and urged everyone to watch Buddy in theatres. Gokul concluded by expressing his delight at working in Telugu cinema.

Insights from the Director

Director Sam Anton also spoke about the film, sharing insights into the making of “Buddy.” He expressed his appreciation for Gokul’s dedication, recounting how Gokul had to perform stunts at a height of 150 feet despite being less than 3 feet tall. Sam apologized for putting Gokul through such challenges but commended his perseverance and professionalism.

Ali’s Praise for Gokul

Veteran actor Ali highlighted the difficulties Gokul faced while playing Buddy. He mentioned that Gokul had to wear gear that restricted his hearing and airflow, yet he never complained. Ali praised Gokul as a “real gem of a man” and mentioned that there are two heroines in the film, one paired with Buddy and the other with Allu Sirish.

Heroines’ Excitement

The heroines expressed their excitement about being part of Buddy, noting that the presence of the teddy bear adds a unique and appealing element to the film. They emphasized that children and girls, who generally love teddy bears, would be particularly drawn to this action-packed movie.

Allu Sirish’s Enthusiasm

Allu Sirish was very positive about the film, explaining that the action-oriented concept of Buddy attracted him to the project. He shared that his background in a family of producers influences his perspective, making him mindful of production costs and timelines. Sirish mentioned that he always pushes the team to wrap up early to avoid extending the production schedule and increasing costs, which shows his concern for the producers’ viewpoint.

Director’s Clarification

Director Sam Anton clarified that Buddy is not related to the Tamil movie “Teddy” or the English movie “Teddy.” While all three films feature a teddy bear, their scripts are entirely different. Sirish added that although Buddy is designed for children, it also targets parents who would accompany their kids to the theatre.

Special Ticket Prices

To make the movie accessible to a wider audience, the Buddy team announced special ticket prices for the first week. Single-screen theatres will offer tickets at 99 rupees, and multiplex theatres will have tickets priced at 129 rupees. This pricing strategy aims to encourage families to come to the theatres from the very first day of the movie’s release.
