“Akhanda 2 Action Will Give Goosebumps: Ram–Lakshman”
Every Action Sequence Will Give You Goosebumps”: Fight Masters Ram–Lakshman
The highly anticipated divine action spectacle Akhanda 2: Thandavam brings back the powerful collaboration of God of Masses Nandamuri Balakrishna and blockbuster director Boyapati Sreenu. The film is produced prestigiously by Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta, while M. Tejaswini Nandamuri proudly presents it. Music is composed by S. Thaman.
The teaser, trailer, and songs have already taken expectations to the next level. Akhanda 2: Thandavam is set for a grand worldwide release on December 5, 2025, in both 2D and 3D formats.
On this occasion, fight masters Ram–Lakshman shared exciting details about the film’s action in a media interaction.
How different and new are the action sequences in Akhanda 2?
“Akhanda 2 carries expectations far bigger than the first film. In Akhanda, Balakrishna garu was introduced as the divine force ‘Akhanda.’ But in this film, Boyapati garu has showcased Balayya Babu’s full Vishwaroopam—a grander, more powerful form.
When the hero carries divine energy, the villain must be equally strong. Aadhi Pinisetty garu has played such a powerful antagonist, and he delivered a brilliant performance. His character carries negative energy, whereas Akhanda represents pure positive energy. The action designed between these two energies will feel entirely fresh.”
Pan-India scale & massive canvas
“This film has double the scale of Akhanda. From day one, Boyapati garu wanted to make it a true pan-India spectacle, so every detail was crafted grandly with immense homework and 100% effort.
We all worked with one goal: to give audiences an unforgettable experience. If fans expect 100%, the film will deliver 1000%.”
About the Gun-Trishul sequence
“You might’ve seen the shot in the teaser where a gun merges with a trident. A gun already has great power. But when it is infused with the divine power of Lord Shiva, imagine the impact! That’s the level of action we have designed.”
On Boyapati’s spiritual vision
“Boyapati garu has beautifully portrayed how life transforms into something blissful when one embraces Omkara and Shiva tattva with purity.”
What did Balakrishna say after watching your action choreography?
“We’ve been working with Balayya Babu garu for many years. He trusts us completely. We designed mass action for Simha and Legend. But adding divine energy to such a mass character—that’s the magic of Akhanda 2.
When audiences watch the action, they will definitely get goosebumps.”
Balakrishna’s dedication
“Balayya Babu garu is unbelievable. We used to wear 4–5 layers of jackets in extreme snow. But he would stand sleeveless in that cold, performing intense action scenes.
He immerses himself in a role so deeply—he literally gives his life for his character. Having an actor like him is a matter of pride.”
“After watching this film, people will realize that no one other than Balakrishna garu could have done this role. Watching him on set felt like witnessing a divine power.”
About the producers
“Special thanks to 14 Reels’ Gopi garu and Ram garu. They never compromised anywhere. This is a film with double or triple the span of Akhanda.
They encouraged us to design every action sequence on a global scale. Not just India—the entire world will feel proud watching Shiva tattva portrayed so magnificently.”
Filming at the Kumbh Mela
“This year’s Kumbh Mela was a divine sight that lit up Hindu dharma. People from all over the world came. Shooting parts of the film amidst such a spiritual event was an unforgettable experience.”
Did Balakrishna perform risky action sequences himself?
“Absolutely. Balakrishna garu always wants fans to experience real action. That’s why he performed 99% of the stunts himself.
We used several tons of sacred ash (vibhuti) during the filming. When audiences leave the theatres, they’ll feel like vibhuti has showered upon them. The entire film radiates powerful spiritual vibes.”
Variations in the action sequences
“There are three major fight blocks, each designed with a completely different mood and characterization. Not even for a second will the audience feel bored.”
Staying updated amid changing action formats in Indian cinema
“In this field, you must update yourself every minute. If we weren’t updated, you wouldn’t be interviewing us today!” (laughs)
“Our son Rahul is entering the industry as the next-generation action director. He brings amazing new ideas.”
Will there be an action highlight like the Chakram scene in Akhanda?
“Definitely—and even bigger. When designing action, we always think about what the audience loved previously and how we can take it to the next level. So Akhanda 2 will have sequences that surpass everything they connected with in the first film.”
On competition in action choreography now
“Competition is essential in every field. When you’re the only one, ego grows. When there’s someone next to you, fear keeps you grounded. New styles must come—that’s how we evolve. From that evolution comes creativity.”
