Love Insurance Company is a full-length love story after Uppena– Krithi Shetty

“Love Insurance Company is a full-length love story after Uppena”– Krithi Shetty

Riding high on consecutive blockbuster successes, young sensation Pradeep Ranganathan stars in the much-awaited romantic entertainer Love Insurance Company, directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film is produced by Nayanthara, with Krithi Shetty playing the female lead. Key roles are portrayed by S. J. Suryah and Yogi Babu.

The Telugu teaser and trailer have already received an overwhelming response. The film is set for a grand release on April 10 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through Sri Padmini Cinemas. On this occasion, Krithi Shetty interacted with the media and shared interesting insights about the film.

What was your reaction when Vignesh Shivan narrated the story?
After Uppena, I hadn’t done a full-fledged love story, and this film gave me that opportunity. The love story here feels very fresh. When Vignesh Shivan narrated it, I instantly connected with it.

In today’s world, everyone on social media keeps track of likes and shares. That aspect connects deeply with many people. The film presents a very real character in a cinematic way, and portraying it has been a wonderful experience for me.

Tell us about your character?
In today’s generation, people can manage without money, but living without a phone feels impossible. I play such a character.

Though the visual concept is set in a futuristic 2040 backdrop, the story itself is highly relatable. It’s a fun film with all commercial elements and a strong love story that audiences will enjoy.

Are you personally attached to your phone as well?
When I’m working, I don’t touch my phone at all. Otherwise, I try to use it in a balanced way. But yes, like everyone else, I’ve developed a habit of using it more now.

Phones are a great way to connect with fans. I don’t really focus on likes and shares, but I do use social media to stay connected with them.

Since Nayanthara produced the film, did she visit the sets?
Through this film, I developed a great bond with Nayanthara. On screen, she appears like a strong boss lady, but in real life, she’s a very sweet person.

Both Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan take great care of everyone on set. At one point, I even sought her advice about life, and she guided me very well. She also shared valuable tips about my career.

It’s a futuristic love story… what kind of love stories do you personally like?
I believe in old-school love. Films like Sita Ramam and 96 are my favorites. There’s a certain innocence and joy in those stories.

Honestly, I don’t fully relate to the way love is portrayed in today’s generation.

Do you think something like “Love Insurance” could exist in the future?
Today, almost every part of the body can be insured. So in the future, even love might become a form of insurance!

In the film, this concept is explored in a very interesting way.

What was the most challenging aspect of this film?
When Vignesh Shivan explained my character, he wanted me to do something completely different from my previous roles.

My character is not very expressive and mostly interacts through a phone. The expressions are almost robotic. This was a new and challenging experience for me as an actor.

Your experience working with Pradeep Ranganathan?
Pradeep is a very sweet person. He observes everything closely and always has a smile on his face. His judgment is very sharp, and I learned a lot from him.

Working with S. J. Suryah?
It was a great experience working with S. J. Suryah. Once he comes to the set, he never sits idle.

Despite being such an experienced director and actor, he works every day with the enthusiasm of his first day. His energy is truly amazing.

Why are you doing more Tamil films now?
It wasn’t something I planned. I kept receiving consecutive offers from Tamil cinema, and I really liked many of the stories.

However, Telugu audiences are always close to my heart. I wanted to take my time and come back with a good film for them.

How did you utilize your break?
During this gap, I went back to acting school. I learned fight sequences and also trained in classical dance.

Whenever I get time, I try to improve myself as an actor.

What are your upcoming projects?
Currently, I’m set to work on a Telugu film with Anil Ravipudi. There’s also a Tamil project under discussion.
