Sri Kala Sudha’s 28th Ugadi Awards to Celebrate Telugu Excellence
The prestigious 28th Ugadi Awards, organized by the Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Association, will be celebrated with grandeur on the auspicious occasion of Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi. Founded on November 21, 1998, in Chennai, Sri Kala Sudha has been actively promoting and preserving Telugu culture and traditions for over 27 years.
The grand awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 4:29 PM at the Music Academy, Chennai. The event will honour distinguished personalities from cinema and various fields with awards such as Mahila Ratna, Bapu Bomma, Bapu–Ramana, and Vishishta Ugadi Awards, along with the Ugadi Cine Awards – 2025.
The Ugadi Cine Awards will recognize actors, directors, producers, and technicians from films released in 2025 across several categories. In addition, accomplished women from different professional fields will be honoured with the Mahila Ratna Award. The final list of awardees was decided after detailed discussions with the Sri Kala Sudha committee members.
The organizers have extended an open invitation to Telugu people from across regions to attend the celebration and take pride in the achievements and cultural legacy of the Telugu community.
Dignitaries Attending the Event
The ceremony will be attended by several prominent personalities. Dr. Brahmasani Chandrasekhar will grace the event as the Chief Guest, while MVR Murali Krishna will attend as the Guest of Honour. Special guests for the evening include A. Sai Prasad, Sahu Garapati, Shashikanth Valleppalli, Muba Padmaiah, Rajamouli Sheern, and Saroj Vivekanand.
The Vasishta Ugadi Award for Public Service will be presented to Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh. Meanwhile, Mrs. Mamatha Madireddy will receive the Mahila Ratna Award for her achievements.
The Andesri Memorial Award will be conferred upon Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose, while the PB Srinivas Award will be presented to music director Devi Sri Prasad for his work in the film Thandrini.

Speaking at the press meet, the organizers shared details about the upcoming ceremony and announced the award recipients. The press conference was attended by Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary Tummala Prasanna Kumar, senior film journalist Prabhu, Bethireddy Srinivas, Prativadhi Bhayankara Phaninder, Venu Gopal, Ajay Kumar, journalist Keshava, and others.
The organizers stated that the Ugadi Awards ceremony aims to celebrate excellence in cinema while also recognizing distinguished individuals from various walks of life, further strengthening the pride and cultural identity of the Telugu community.
