After delivering successful films like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambhai, and Isha, the dynamic duo of Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati is back with a full-length entertainer titled Hey Bhagavan.
Produced under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vasu Works, the film stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanthi in key roles. Directed by Gopi Achara, the film is produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner. The movie is scheduled for release on February 20.
In a recent interaction with the media, producer Vamsi Nandipati shared interesting insights about the film and his journey. Here are the highlights:
What kind of film is “Hey Bhagavan”?
“Hey Bhagavan is a complete entertainer. I’ve been involved right from the story stage and am also presenting the film. At its core, the movie is filled with fun, but there’s also a strong emotional layer. A business angle in the story becomes the bridge through which a son understands his father. It will make audiences laugh out loud—and also touch their hearts.”
Why did you highlight the business element in the teaser and trailer?
“That was intentional—to build curiosity and buzz. Interestingly, no one has been able to guess what that business actually is.”
What is the significance of the title ‘Hey Bhagavan’?
“The father’s character name in the film is Bhagavan, which is why we chose the title. However, due to recent censor concerns calling it sensitive, discussions are ongoing. There’s a possibility of changing it to Hey Bhavan. A final decision will be announced soon.”
How important is this film for Suhas’ career?
“This will be the commercial success Suhas has been waiting for. I strongly believe Hey Bhagavan will be his biggest commercial hit so far and a milestone film in his career.”
Your films often release with strong buzz. What’s your strategy as a producer?
“I prefer calling myself a creative strategist rather than just a producer. I closely monitor every department. I offer suggestions only when needed, and changes happen only if the director is convinced. When a director is happy, the film automatically turns out well.”
How do directors respond to your creative inputs?
“Creative freedom always belongs to the director. If we explain our point convincingly, they usually agree. Past successes also help, but ultimately, content strength is everything.”

Has the number of small films reduced lately?
“Actually, after Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambhai, small films increased. Recently, nearly 300 film titles were registered in just one month. There’s now clarity that OTT alone isn’t sufficient, though OTT-centric films are also being made.”
Do you plan to direct films in the future?
“No. My goal is to produce good content-driven films, not to direct.”
Your association with Bunny Vasu?
“He’s like a brother to me. We’ve been together since the beginning. If he approves a project, it’s as good as my approval. Our thought processes usually align.”
Update on Polimera-3?
“Pre-production for Polimera-3 is underway. We’re planning to start shooting in April or May. The film will release in all South Indian languages except Hindi, and we’re considering casting a star in the lead role. An official announcement will be made soon.”
What’s next for you?
“I’m doing a project with ETV Win, which will be announced on the 27th of this month. A few more projects with ETV are also in the pipeline.”
Are you releasing Shivaji’s ‘Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani’ in theatres?
“Yes. Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani will release in theatres on March 6, and I’m handling its theatrical release as a distributor.”
