Pushpa 2 to Release in Japan as “Pushpa Kunrin” on January 16, 2026
Mythri Movie Makers, in association with Sukumar Writings, has officially teamed up with top Japanese distributors Geek Pictures and Shochiku to bring Pushpa 2: The Rule to audiences in Japan. The record-breaking blockbuster, headlined by Icon Star Allu Arjun, is set to hit Japanese theatres on January 16, 2026, under the localized title “Pushpa Kunrin.”
The announcement was made with a warm Japanese greeting — “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo” (Hello, friends of Japan). To mark this milestone, the makers unveiled a Japanese-dubbed trailer along with striking new posters showcasing Allu Arjun’s fierce and stylish portrayal of Pushpa Raj.
After its massive worldwide release in five Indian languages on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2: The Rule has already been hailed as an “industry hit.” The film continues the story of the globally celebrated franchise, amplifying its scale, action, and emotional intensity.
Early reports suggested that the team had planned to infuse the sequel with an international touch, aiming to take its reach beyond Indian borders — a vision now turning into reality with its Japan release. Director Sukumar has once again been applauded for his creative brilliance, with Allu Arjun consistently crediting him as the driving force behind the film’s success.
The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad, whose soundtrack has already created a storm. Fahadh Faasil delivers a powerful performance as the menacing cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, while Rashmika Mandanna shines, especially in the much-talked-about Jathara sequence alongside the hero.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
